Google Search Customization
Are you ranking well for your keywords? Are you sure?
I just wanted to make sure that people understand how Google Search works. Google customizes your search. By that I mean that Google will display for you higher rankings for terms that you search frequently.
This may provide you with a false search result.
If you have a term that you have searched, the next time you look for it in Google it will rank higher in YOUR search results. People that you follow at Google + are also ranked higher in your personal results.
So, you may be on the first page of Google or you may just be on the first page of Google with your personalized results and others searching the same term will see a very different result.
How do you get around this? Each Browser (well, Chrome and Firefox anyway) provide a way to search without being logged in to your Google customization.
In Chrome, there is a set of 3 lines in the upper Right corner of your screen, Click on this and a menu opens. Select New Incognito Window and then do your search in the new window that opens. This will search as if you are totally anonymous online and will give accurate results.
In FireFox, the feature is called Private Browsing and is reached by opening the file menu and clicking on New Private Window.
Hope this helps people to understand the search results a bit better.

One more thing I also notice is that, your location also affects to the search result. For example, if I'm in Vietnam and I search for a popular term or keyword in the US, my result is different from that in the US, meaning there're some variations in ranked site order. For me, site A ranks no.1 in VN but it's ranked no. 3 or 4 in the US. (of course checker logged out of their G account.)
I have noticed this because I have done it live along with a live training, in which the trainer located in the US. I followed him for the exact steps to check that exact keyword rankings LIVE & different result coming.
Until now, I have not discovered much on this variation just yet.
