Emotional Rollercoaster
Every day I plug away at this. I don't feel like I'm making much progress on a day to day basis but have a list of things to do and tic them off one by one. Sometimes I wish there were more hours in the day or that I didn't really need to sleep.
I keep focused on the tasks and keep a consistent effort.
At the end of the day there is still no progress on the paypal account.
So even though I'm working and working HARD the rewards are ethereal at this point.
It is hard to keep a positive attitude about this IM stuff.
I know that I am not alone in this. I could step away and recharge but then I would feel frustrated that I wasn't getting anything done.
How do you as a marketer deal with the depression and frustration of this business?

Well it comes and goes. Not putting 10-12 hours a day is one thing, your brain gets tires. Time seems to be a big thing. It takes awhile for a website to age. All the while you are learning a process. Once you think you have it, stop downloading things!! And keep on course. The 30 day clubs here are a good place to get the ducks in a row.!
I'm keeping on. In fact I'm starting to internalize all of this stuff. I found myself away from the computer for a few hours today running a family errand and found 2 maybe 3 more niches to work. And, I picked up a paper and pen and wrote for the first time since gradeschool.
As with anything in life, success comes with time.
You are doing the right thing by continuing to plug away so don't stop there.
We all get to that point. Do exactly what you said, step away for a day or 2 and come back refreshed. I have done it many times myself. Eventually, when a sale or 2 comes that feeling of happiness will outweigh all of the negative thoughts that naturally creap into our heads when we are not getting the results we want. Just keep plugging away, and try to have some fun with it.
