Let's chat CONVERSIONS. How do you get someone on your website to go from a prospective customer, into an actual customer?

Is it going to depend on your ability to sell to people? No.

People don't like being sold to, in particular if your introduction to them is you trying to "sell something". Nobody likes walking on a "used car lot" for this reason, typically they get swarmed by sales associates pushing you every step of the way to buy something.

This doesn't work online, because your audience is a "click" away from leaving your website, so you best be sure that you HELP people and establish trust before you make any product or service recommendations.

Those that thing they are good at selling, tend to be bad at it within the online world. Those they are genuinely interested in helping others, will be much more successful.

What is your approach to "selling" stuff online?

Hi Kyle, Here is what I believe is if you are honest and transparent with your audience they will be apt in buying the product that you have. And also agree with TMutim as to being original and authentic. You have to show your audience or customer that you are ready to show what you have and if you do those four things you will sell something even if is small.

It will take time of course but once your audience or customer purchase something from you that will be your foundation into building your business. And once someone purchases something from you they will spread the word about your business and your product.

Mary

Transparency is all about being authentic, and wanting to authentically help your audience. That idea and approach happens before you even start to create your content, and brand wide it should be your approach. If you can do this, you will have a long term and successful brand within any niche. ;)

Hi Kyle, Since I came back that is all I have been is honest, truthful, and transparent is the most important part of being in business. That is not only for the audience but in making your brand. Because when the customer knows that you are truthful and transparent they the audience and customers with buy from you with confidence. At least that is how I believe it works.

That is how you build a representation of being honest, truthful, and transparent and that will spread like wildfire. And you build a trustworthy business.

Mary

My aim and how I write my content at this point in my online business journey is to be of help.

I want to help people get started and evolve with their website and turn it into an online businesses.

Whether they start somewhere in the MMO niche or in the pets niche or any other niche, it doesn't matter.
The principles are the same

What I try to provide is useful, hands-on information, guides and step-by-step instructions, to get them started and expand.

And I will be there alongside their journey if they want to, to be a guiding hand when they get stuck.

I have restarted my business, and am now sharing as I learn, also using the experience I have gained from the more than two years I have been doing this.

I will share my mistakes and my wins, not holding anything back.

My aim is to help my audience follow a straighter path than I have done.

By following the intention above the cash flow will come as a byproduct of what I do.
The money is not the priority, my content for my audience is.

Roy

That is great Roy, you are definitely doing things right. Your natural approach to helping people within your niche is going to equate to a substantial brand with time. As you indicate, the cash follows the help and there is an abundance of opportunity in absolutely every niche.

It was an eye-opener and a kick in the b....when I looked back earlier this year, at my efforts on my website etc. up until then. I saw that I wasn´t me in what I did. I didn´t put a personal touch on what I created.

Instead, I was a copycat of what others did instead of modelling it into something uniquely for my brand.

Roy

That is actually quite normal, in particular when we try writing for search engines that adds another dimension where we actually try to turn our writing into a process for "algorithms"...the reality is though algorithms of all search engines are chasing "humanized" content.

Kyle,

Sales has never been my forte. I once was an independent distributor for Herbal Life. My biggest sale was $500 to a lady who was a manager at a shoe store. This was after posting thousands of flyers. On the other hand, my friend was a travel salesman for Amway or something and he made out like a bandit. Sales is not in my DNA, though

I buy into the idea of adding value to the potential customer.
Right now, I'm getting a lion's share of clicks on Pinterest and my Google Analytics show traffic. So, my game plan is to figure how to hold 'em and get conversions.

Flyers = someone trying to sell something to me. I bet your biggest sale was because you were authentically helping them, or you approach them differently than you did others.

I too am not keen on "sales", it certainly is not in my DNA, but helping people is. Fortunately over the years I have realized that the most efficient path to making a sale, is actually helping people.

Yes, Kyle, I connected with my customer on a personal level. I was surprised that she helped me out, even though I'm terrible at pushing a sale.

You message really resonates with me. Have an awesome day.

Rachele

Well, perhaps the reason is that you didn't push the sell at all!
