Google Bard’s New Upgrades: A Universe of Languages and Features, Yet Canada Waits in the Wing
Google’s latest AI experiment, Bard, has been steadily gaining ground as a promising tool for language processing and generation. It is in direct competition with ChatGPT, and some say with it's most recent changes, there are certain aspects of Bard that are better than GPT. Time will tell how this heated competition to the "best AI" plays out.
Just today, Google announced some new updates to their AI platform, Bard. Its new update offers a more dynamic, user-friendly experience with very interesting (and exciting) additions that promise to elevate the platform even further.
However, it seems Canadian users will have to wait a little longer due to regulatory hurdles.
Bard: A Language Maestro
In the latest update, Bard proudly flaunts its multilingual prowess, now supporting over 40 languages. It's an invitation to a wider global audience, making Bard an inclusive platform for users across linguistic boundaries. '
The languages now include Arabic, Chinese, German, Hindi, Spanish, and many more. This means you can leverage AI to not only write in all these languages, but you can use it as a language tool to communicate with and learn all of these languages.
Extended Reach, New Countries Added.
In terms of geographic reach, Bard has made some significant strides. All 27 countries of the European Union and Brazil can now access Bard. Unfortunately, Canada is still in the waiting room. When we can break free from this (or if we ever do), is yet to be seen.
Our regressive policies against Google through our Bill C-18 (which basically is trying to force Google to PAY for showing Canadian news in their results) created a roadblock for Canadian users, leaving us on the sidelines.
In saying this, using a VPN or proxy can help you bypass these restrictions, albeit not an ideal solution. If you are Canadian as well, I feel for ya. Our government is limiting our access to technology through it's archaic legislature.
The Sound of Language..
Bard now lets you listen to its responses. Enter a prompt, select the sound icon, and
voila!
Bard’s answer comes to life in the language of your choice. Not just that, Bard’s responses can now be adjusted to be simpler, longer, shorter, more professional, or casual.
This is a crazy level of customization brings a refreshing versatility to user interactions. I think this is a big move for Google here, and we will see if GPT catches up to this feature.
Productivity & Collab Features.
Bard's newest features are designed with an eye on enhancing productivity. You can now pin conversations, rename them, and even have multiple conversations going at once.
This, coupled with the expanded export capabilities for Python code to platforms like Replit and Google Colab, promising a smoother user experience.
If you don't understand "code", not to worry. Many of these are developer-side advances, basically they have improved the capabilities for interaction between various collaborative platforms through their tech.
Share, Show, Shine.
The updated Bard now allows you to share your chats, be it partially or in entirety. This has been a feature within ChatGPT for some time, as you can share your direct chats with others and use that as a tool for collaboration.
The collaborative environment of Bard has been further enriched, allowing others to see what you’ve created and draw inspiration. This is a catch up measure to GPT, and a good one as I find myself frequently sharing my AI threads with others, for collaboration purposes or sometimes "a ha" moments (holy crap, look what I just did with AI sort of stuff).
Ability to Now Prompt with Pictures.
In a unique twist, Bard now lets you use images as prompts. With Google Lens integrated, it can suggest captions, provide additional information about the image, and more.
It's a pretty sweet feature, but one that probably doesn't have all that much in terms applications for your business. Possibly could help you with Alt Tags, and I am sure there will be some creative prompts built around the image recognition, possible prompts to "recreate" an image using other leading AI image based platforms like MidJourney.
Bard’s latest updates clearly signal a step towards greater inclusivity, versatility, and productivity. AI continues to evolve at a rapid place, and this is going to continue to benefit us within our online businesses, as well as within our personal lives.
However, for Canadian users like us at Wealthy Affiliate, we hope to see a resolution soon that enables us to tap into this powerful AI tool without the need for workarounds.
Let's hope for the best, for the world of Bard promises to be a really great option for an AI efficiency and productivity tool.
Have you been using Bard? What do you think of it, versus GPT...and have you used any of the latest updates yet?
Would love to hear your feedback and comments below.

I have not used Bard (one more thing for me to read up on), but I have used ChatGPT. And I am not surprised that Canada has been left behind considering their actions lately (I am Canadian)! I do have a VPN (since I am in Mexico).
Thanks for sharing this information.

Yeah, you don't need to use it, but it is good to know about it. Us Canadian's are being left in the dust it feels like because of our constant Government policies trying to save "old school" media, yet in Bill C-18 there was nothing there to support independent journalists, bloggers, etc.
So this was driven by lobbying most likely, surprise, surprise. lol
I hate the fact that Canada is left behind!
It's all about the legislative disaster that is Bill C-18. Google is also playing politics here. This is not a political post, but I wish the Canadian government would stop messing around since now they realize what they did and are looking for a way out of the mess of its own, passing some bone-headed law and now are too arrogant and stubborn and insecure to admit that they were wrong!!!
They are playing politics, because they can. I have never agreed with this bill, I think it is archaic and Canada is going to be left in the dust if they keep pushing back against "big tech", or in this case, trying to bully them and tell them to run their business to "save" our dying media agencies.
Totally on board with how you feel as well Denis. ;)
just had a chat with bard and it gave me the standard advice -which i disagree with...
so i explained my advice - and got this reply at the end
'I appreciate you bringing this to my attention. I will update my answer to reflect this information.'
does this mean that i have now influenced a bot not to give the standard advice...
and shows how it can give incorrect information.
so can you reason with a bot to change it's mind?
As I just said to Jay when commenting about his AI lessons, AI is going to take us on a mind-boggling discovery tour in the next few years I thought that what we are already experiencing with AI would not have happened for a few more years but that clearly is not the timeline that this amazing development
Yeah, as soon as it was released to the public, all sorts of creativity starts to happen....and having two key players (minimum) driving the AI platforms, and companies with a great deal of resources, this really is an exciting time.
We are going to look back I believe in 10 years and see this shift being as BIG as the Internet, if not bigger in my opinion. Time will tell though, but these are very exciting times and I tell people that to succeed moving forward, you want to be on the right side of AI.
Yes, I have seen a comment because people are worried about AI replacing their jobs, and I believe that will happen in some industries. Still, the only thing that will replace us is other affiliates and marketers that embrace AI. We have to be resilient and adapt, that's what humans do :)
Yes, it will happen in a lot of industries to those that are not proficient in AI. Those that are proficient, will be able to do the job of 5 people and solve much bigger problems. It is exciting times. :)
Hi Kyle,
Do you know if there are other players on the sidelines waiting to launch their own platform? I am surprised that Apple hasn't jumped into the fray.
Regardless, it is savvy entrepreneurs and consumers who are the beneficiaries.
Thanks for this superb update.
One more thing. Canadians have my commiserations lol!
Cheers.
Edwin
Apple is already leveraging machine learning within their platforms, if you take a picture of a plant for example, you can instantly get information about which plant that is.
That is just one of many implementations, and you can best bet Apple is heavily invested in AI.
Tried both today with a similar keyword and writing a blog
Bard works well but I am more used to Chat so have a preference.
Chat seems to be more up-to-date with info
example
Bard was telling me how great Amazon commissions were, don't think so.
did give WA a good boost though

Yeah, even though Bard is a bit more "real time" with their data and news, it appears that they are not offering the same level of quality with their reasoning and their content. That is my experience as well.
Hey Kyle,
I haven't personally used Bard yet, but based on the updates you shared, it seems like a promising tool. The multilingual support and customization options are definitely appealing. As for comparing it to GPT, I think both platforms have their strengths and it ultimately depends on individual preferences and specific use cases. I'm curious to hear from others who have tried the latest updates in Bard and get their insights on how it compares to GPT.
Thanks for keeping us updated!
Best regards,
Israel
Yeah, there is a lot of promise in both platforms, as they are both powerhouses and in their current state are "amazing" and will continue to get better.
One thing that I can see happening is them competing for an audience, which forces innovation and that is going to benefit us, the end user. Personally you will be well served on GPT, but if you get a chance you may want to check out Bard. :)

I used Bard to write one article in ~5h. I got some great info quickly. However, I did not like to post it and rewriting. I asked multiple questions in Bard and Chat GPT. I am not sure about ChatGPT from Jay's training yesterday. Should Bard know my niche well enough to accumulate available knowledge to share when a question is asked?
Bard and GPT should know information about your niche, in detail and will help you formulate an outline and structure for your article, at which point if you plan to write out the entire thing yourself, you are going to be able to do so with a bunch of efficiency. ;)
