Creating AI Videos with Google's Veo 3 (A Look Behind the Scenes)
I wanted to give you a behind-the-scenes look at something I have been testing recently, AI video creation using Google’s new video model, Veo 3. This is part of Google’s Gemini platform and is one of the most advanced video AI tools currently available.
I’ll walk you through how I’ve been using it, what works, what does not, and what this means for content creators moving forward.
What Is Veo 3?
Veo 3 is Google’s latest AI video generation model. It is built on top of Gemini, Google’s version of ChatGPT. Using Veo 3, you can generate 8-second video clips from simple text prompts...complete with visuals, sound, and motion.
Right now, I am testing it using the Gemini Ultra plan, which runs about $200/month. Not cheap, but I wanted to see what’s possible and how we might leverage this for our businesses.
There are two ways to generate video:
- Directly inside Gemini’s chat interface
- Using Google Flow, which allows for stitching together multiple clips into longer videos
My Process for Creating an AI Promo Video
Here’s a quick summary of how I created a short Wealthy Affiliate promo video:
- I wrote a detailed prompt describing the scene, the mood, and the audio.
- I generated the video using Veo 3 within Gemini.
- After a short 2–3 minute render, I downloaded the final result.
I also tried creating another version using Flow, which allowed me to build multiple scenes and combine them into a longer video with more flexibility.
The Results (And Limitations)
The result? Visually, it looked great. But there were a few issues:
- The audio was missing, no voiceover, only music.
- "Wealthy Affiliate" was included in the background, but spelled incorrectly and did not represent the actual platform.
- Like most AI video tools, it still misinterprets or omits key prompt elements.
While it’s not perfect yet, the potential is enormous. We are now able to go from a simple idea to a rendered video ad in minutes.
Why I’m Leaning Toward Flow
Flow (also owned by Google) allows you to:
- Build longer video sequences
- Add consistent music and narration
- Create full promotional or educational content
I’ve found it more reliable than using Gemini alone when working with multiple video clips.
This is where I see more potential moving forward, and I’ll be sharing more in-depth content around that as I continue experimenting.
Final Thoughts: The Future of AI Video
The most important thing to remember is this:
"What we are seeing today is the LEAST capable AI will ever be."
Every day, these tools improve. Tomorrow’s results will be sharper, more accurate, and more customizable. Whether it’s:
- Realistic talking avatars
- Stylized cartoons
- Branded ads or product explainers
You will be able to create whatever you imagine...with just your words.
Have You Tried AI Video Yet?
I’d love to hear your thoughts:
- Have you created any videos using AI?
- Have you tested out Google’s Veo or other tools?
- How do you see this fitting into your business?

Hi Kyle!
This is great! Thanks for sharing this valuable information about AI created videos. This will be very beneficial to our online business. I have not made any videos using AI tools but pretty soon I will be experimenting with video creation.
There have been so many advancement with AI in such a short period of time; it is mind blowing. However, as long as we can use it to our advantage; it is all good.
Have an awesome day! Wishing you the very best!
Kind regards,
Nichola
Yeah, there has been a lot of change recently, and this is going to only continue picking up pace. It feels like the last few months of advancements in AI, are as big as the entire year prior of updates.
It is mind blowing when we think about the possibilities available to us because of AI. Onwards and upwards!
Very interesting video Kyle! I haven't used AI for much of anything outside of Wealthy Affiliate yet actually, but this looks very promising for creating ads and such in the future. It definitely needs some work on spelling though, lol. But, I'm sure it'll get there soon. It's mind boggling how fast things have improved in AI already.
I'm not too much of fan of going overboard with AI. For example, some of the videos I've come across on YouTube with an obvious AI voice over. They feel too awkward and lacking of personality in my opinion. But, if I could add a more realistic voice over to video some day that'd be awesome since I'd rather not be the one talking in it. 😅
Thanks for sharing Kyle! I wouldn't have heard of it otherwise.
Best wishes :) ~Sherry
It's not a matter of going overboard these days, it is using it to explore your own creativity. As time goes on, you are going to be able to bring more and more creative ideas that you have to life.
How many times have you gotten an idea about something...anything throughout the day? Imagine if you could bring that very idea to life. ;)
Yes, it is quite exciting to think of all the possibilities someone could create with the help of AI!
I totally agree it would be amazing to actually accomplish some of the ideas whirling around in my head. :)
It is interesting the rate at which AI is improving. That improvement is FAST. Soon, we won't be able to tell the difference between fact and fiction.
Like most technological developments over the years, there is always good and bad. What we, as marketers, need to do is use the 'good' for our benefit.
I once heard an online marketer, and specifically a specialist in utilising social media, say it is a terrible waste of time. If we ever get trapped in the rabbit hole of Social Media, it will eat your whole life away. What he did say was this: Only go on there to do your business, then leave. Do not use it for any other reason.
I think AI is a bit like that. We need to use it for our business, and then get out of there.
Anyway, I haven't tried creating video with AI, just yet, but it strikes me it may be a fantastic tool for creating short reels for use on the likes of Instagram, Facebook, and TikTok. Maybe even faceless YouTube channels.
It's moving quick, and if you saw my video from today (Kyle Made Me Do it), you will see a better example of what is possible, using different styles of characters. Kyle Made Me Do It! This is the new world we are living in now, and there may come a day in the near future where we can efficiently create our own movies, and perhaps even have the potential as a layperson to create a blockbuster one. :)
Wow, that got me thinking. Yes, it could bring a challenge to the major movie makers from all kinds of everyday independents. Food for thought.

This looks very interesting. I've not used AI to create video content as yet, but I have utlised it in Lumen 5 to string together clips. However, this is a new ball game altogether and one that is exciting. I think that at the moment, you are right to say that we need to really be able to see the desired outcomes in our heads first - ie. we need to have the ideas first, and then I think it will be easier to create the prompts and ultimately the video. But I guess that's the way it's always been in marketing - if you have a great idea, you can create magic!
I just had a go using Firefly from Adobe and was able to bring another AI generated photo to life for 5 second piece that looked pretty good. I'm impressed. However, you have to have an image to start with and it's not generating from scratch... well, not yet!!
Yeah, it is getting very good and it is quite addictive. It is easy to blow through credits, and every 8 second video (that has been polished) is several dollars currently, I guess good value compared to conventional video content (hiring people, finding a location, etc).
It is going to get REALLY good ,and a lot cheaper as the technology advances. So look forward to that!
And i have heard pretty good things about Firefly, how are you enjoying it?
I only just tried it yesterday after watching your video but it did a pretty good job of making an image that I'd previously created come to life. I've seen a lot of ads of social media about making old photos come to life which look quite good so I may try that and see how it works. I As you know, I used to work in the video business so it's a real interest of mine. I've been making a lot of reels and short videos using Canva which I've really enjoyed so I think this is something I'll be spending time on .... all that extra time that I have of course!! (LOL)
Yeah, there are many cool and creative ideas for video, and as it gets better and better, you are going to see a lot of really neat videos come to life. :)
