Beer With Kyle: Our Vision for Training at Wealthy Affiliate
Hey Everyone,
I hope you’ve had a productive week. Today, I’m excited to discuss a significant update we just rolled out for our training environment inside the hubs. It’s not only a big release but also a look into where we’re headed with our training here at WA as we head into 2025.
Before we get into it, I have this week’s beer to introduce. This week I am trying out Good Clean Fun West Coast IPA from Twin Sails Brewing, based out of Port Moody, BC. It’s a hoppy, crisp IPA, and as expected, it’s another great beer from Twin Sales. If you’re ever in the Port Moody area, I recommend checking it out. They have a brewery district there with a bunch of other really good breweries.
Anyways, now to the exciting stuff...
1. A Fresh Look at Core Training
We’ve made significant changes to the core training organization inside the hubs. Previously, the training navigation was horizontal, making it harder to get an overall view of your progress and what was coming next. Now, the training is laid out in a more streamlined, top-down format, giving you a clear bird’s-eye view of each phase and where you’re headed.
- Easy Navigation: The new design allows you to easily jump between lessons and phases.
- Progress Tracking: You can now see a progress bar indicating how much of the training you’ve completed, making it easier to track your journey and accomplishments.
We made these updates to showcase the full value of the core training while also making it simpler and more efficient for you to navigate.
2. Introducing Traffic Training Directly Inside Hubs
One of the most exciting updates is the addition of traffic training right within your hub environment. The idea here is to build a solid foundation for your business first:
- Set up your website and hub
- Establish your brand and social presence
- Integrate affiliate products and services as your core monetization model
Once you have this core in place, you can then focus on the traffic strategies we’ve introduced in the hub’s new training modules. The updated traffic training covers a range of methods:
- Search Engine Optimization (SEO)
- User-Generated Content
- Social Media Marketing
- YouTube
- Pay-Per-Click (PPC)
- Email Marketing
- Artificial Intelligence
- Wordpress
3. Beyond the Core: Expanding into Advanced Traffic Strategies
We’ve included in-depth training modules, each lasting four to six hours, that get into the specifics and some of the more advanced aspects of traffic generation strategies. These cover everything from mastering SEO to leveraging YouTube and email marketing. We’ve even added sections on integrating artificial intelligence and WordPress, as these are crucial components of any modern online business.
We have hundreds of additional classes within the Classes environment still, and ongoing expert classes weekly that you can leverage on top of this. Not to mention video shorts, and 1,000's of discussions within WA taking place at any given moment.
The goal with this update was to provide foundational building blocks directly within the hub environment, making it easier for you to start driving traffic right after completing the core training.
4. A Checklist Approach for Building Your Business
The new core training is designed almost like a business checklist. Here’s the approach:
- Build Your Core: Establish your website, hub, brand, and initial content framework.
- Expand Your Reach: Dive into traffic strategies once the core is complete.
- Explore Advanced Environments: Soon, we’ll be creating focused environments for each traffic method. For example, if you want to master YouTube, there will be a dedicated space with core training, classes, Q&A, expert insights, and more.
This step-by-step structure helps guide you through building a solid foundation and then scaling up with advanced traffic methods. It’s a more focused and efficient way to approach your business growth.
5. The Vision for 2025 and Beyond
We’re excited about this update, but it’s just the first step. Moving forward you will see us evolve the training environments further. We want to provide comprehensive spaces where you can master each traffic strategy and access all related content in one place. This will give you a deeper learning experience and better tools to succeed.
We noticed that many members felt boxed in by the previous core training format and struggled to see a clear path forward. The changes we’ve made aim to give you a broader perspective of where you are in your business journey, what you’ve completed, and what’s next. The progress bars and top-down navigation help create that clarity.
Your Feedback Matters
This update is just the beginning, and we’d love to hear what you think. Your feedback is what drives our improvements and helps us shape the platform to meet your needs. So jump down in the comments and share your thoughts on:
- The new training organization
- The inclusion of traffic training directly within hubs
- Our approach to building a core foundation first, then branching into advanced strategies
I’m excited to hear your feedback and insights, it is how we improve and advance the platform here at WA. ;)

I am sure that the future members as well as the current members will find it a lot easier to follow and complete their training. I already started where I left off, and I like the way it marks off what is completed so I don't lose track of where I left off. Thank you, Kyle.
Yes, that is the ultimate goal. We have a lot more updates coming, that will further improve the user experience on the training side of things. We are in a constant state of evolution, and if you ever have any feedback we would love to hear it Jerry.
Appreciate you!
Hello Kyle
Thank you for sharing. I just checked out the new training section in Hubs and I really like it. I think it is really cool and is just what we needed.
I noticed there no longer seems to be a introduction video to WordPress in the core training. Did I miss it or was it intentionally moved?
I think it would be good to have at least a tutorial video on WordPress basics in the core training so new people know the basics of WordPress.
But as I said I might have missed something and I'm really liking this update to the training.
I like the addition of the traffic training and I really like the sound of the training plans for the future. I especially love the idea of the focused environments for mastering different aspects of your business.
I really like everything I see so far and I'm really look forward to the future training updates on Wealthy Affiliate. Thank you again for sharing and for all of the amazing work you, Caron and the team do for us all on Wealthy Affiliate. All the best to your success.
Regards
Timothy
There is an ENTIRE wordpress section within the "Traffic Training". So you will find it there, as that is where this series is if you wanted to advance your Wordpress skills. I explained this in the video as well,
Glad you like this updates and i think you are really going to like where things progress to as we move forward. :)
Hello Kyle
Thank you for your reply. Yes I found the WordPress section and I must have forgot about it when I made my comment.
Thank you again for your reply and for reminding me about the WordPress section. I'm really looking forward to all the future training updates on Wealthy Affiliate. All the best to your success.
Regards
Timothy
No problem, and we are going to advance all of these into full "environments" as time goes on, so stay tuned for that. I think you are going to like the direction we head with this here. ;)
Hi Kyle!
I love the way you all have organized the training in our Hubs area of the WA platform!
Having the traffic training prominently listed next to core training will keep new people engaged with the many ways they can draw prospects to their websites.
Thank you WA Team!
Awesome Howard, glad you liked this update. The goal is to help people build out their "core", which are the foundational building blocks of their business, and from there, they can scale out their traffic in many ways.
This approach has always been the approach, but it makes much more sense within the new organization of the training. We have some really exciting updates coming that are going to further add more organization to the training. :)
Been away for a couple of weeks and just logging in to catch up on what i missed and its just insane how these updates that constantly make the platform better keeps rolling out.
The last training setup from left to right was a struggle (i vaguely remember liking the one before the last one when i first joined which was better than the last one). This one though looks really good. Looking forward to using the traffic training a lot more now.
Good job on this!!!

Hi Kyle:
These advancements with streamlining the core training and traffic training within the hub is a step in the right direction. It eliminates searching elsewhere or not knowing that these trainings exist as it's time consuming to explore everything that is offered here at WA.
We can look ahead with excitement knowing that you have our best interest at heart as we strive to build our online businesses. Whatever approach we use, you've got us covered.
I'm appreciative for all the hard work put into this platform and community and look forward to what's ahead.
