Beer With Kyle: Our Vision for Training at Wealthy Affiliate
Hey Everyone,
I hope you’ve had a productive week. Today, I’m excited to discuss a significant update we just rolled out for our training environment inside the hubs. It’s not only a big release but also a look into where we’re headed with our training here at WA as we head into 2025.
Before we get into it, I have this week’s beer to introduce. This week I am trying out Good Clean Fun West Coast IPA from Twin Sails Brewing, based out of Port Moody, BC. It’s a hoppy, crisp IPA, and as expected, it’s another great beer from Twin Sales. If you’re ever in the Port Moody area, I recommend checking it out. They have a brewery district there with a bunch of other really good breweries.
Anyways, now to the exciting stuff...
1. A Fresh Look at Core Training
We’ve made significant changes to the core training organization inside the hubs. Previously, the training navigation was horizontal, making it harder to get an overall view of your progress and what was coming next. Now, the training is laid out in a more streamlined, top-down format, giving you a clear bird’s-eye view of each phase and where you’re headed.
- Easy Navigation: The new design allows you to easily jump between lessons and phases.
- Progress Tracking: You can now see a progress bar indicating how much of the training you’ve completed, making it easier to track your journey and accomplishments.
We made these updates to showcase the full value of the core training while also making it simpler and more efficient for you to navigate.
2. Introducing Traffic Training Directly Inside Hubs
One of the most exciting updates is the addition of traffic training right within your hub environment. The idea here is to build a solid foundation for your business first:
- Set up your website and hub
- Establish your brand and social presence
- Integrate affiliate products and services as your core monetization model
Once you have this core in place, you can then focus on the traffic strategies we’ve introduced in the hub’s new training modules. The updated traffic training covers a range of methods:
- Search Engine Optimization (SEO)
- User-Generated Content
- Social Media Marketing
- YouTube
- Pay-Per-Click (PPC)
- Email Marketing
- Artificial Intelligence
- Wordpress
3. Beyond the Core: Expanding into Advanced Traffic Strategies
We’ve included in-depth training modules, each lasting four to six hours, that get into the specifics and some of the more advanced aspects of traffic generation strategies. These cover everything from mastering SEO to leveraging YouTube and email marketing. We’ve even added sections on integrating artificial intelligence and WordPress, as these are crucial components of any modern online business.
We have hundreds of additional classes within the Classes environment still, and ongoing expert classes weekly that you can leverage on top of this. Not to mention video shorts, and 1,000's of discussions within WA taking place at any given moment.
The goal with this update was to provide foundational building blocks directly within the hub environment, making it easier for you to start driving traffic right after completing the core training.
4. A Checklist Approach for Building Your Business
The new core training is designed almost like a business checklist. Here’s the approach:
- Build Your Core: Establish your website, hub, brand, and initial content framework.
- Expand Your Reach: Dive into traffic strategies once the core is complete.
- Explore Advanced Environments: Soon, we’ll be creating focused environments for each traffic method. For example, if you want to master YouTube, there will be a dedicated space with core training, classes, Q&A, expert insights, and more.
This step-by-step structure helps guide you through building a solid foundation and then scaling up with advanced traffic methods. It’s a more focused and efficient way to approach your business growth.
5. The Vision for 2025 and Beyond
We’re excited about this update, but it’s just the first step. Moving forward you will see us evolve the training environments further. We want to provide comprehensive spaces where you can master each traffic strategy and access all related content in one place. This will give you a deeper learning experience and better tools to succeed.
We noticed that many members felt boxed in by the previous core training format and struggled to see a clear path forward. The changes we’ve made aim to give you a broader perspective of where you are in your business journey, what you’ve completed, and what’s next. The progress bars and top-down navigation help create that clarity.
Your Feedback Matters
This update is just the beginning, and we’d love to hear what you think. Your feedback is what drives our improvements and helps us shape the platform to meet your needs. So jump down in the comments and share your thoughts on:
- The new training organization
- The inclusion of traffic training directly within hubs
- Our approach to building a core foundation first, then branching into advanced strategies
I’m excited to hear your feedback and insights, it is how we improve and advance the platform here at WA. ;)

@Kyle. I like the layout, as it makes it a lot more convenient to find the training classes. The traffic training is a great idea because I’m sure many of us are striving towards getting more traffic.
One thing I’d like to see is a more effective way for us to get our sites looked at. I know we talked about this privately but I believe getting regular feedback on our site content is important. Over time, we all wander off and get lost from time to time.
I think most people aren’t aware of the site feedback feature here. It would be nice to add it into the hubs area where it’s more noticeable. A “build it up right as you go” approach.
Thanks to all the WA team for all these updates. I'm very pleased to see that this platform keeps improving!! :)
This sounds fantastic, Kyle! We'll never stop learning, lol :)
What a great environment here in WA!
Thanks,
Terki

Good morning Kyle,
I hope you're doing well.
Thank you for another "Beer with Kyle".
I must admit I really like the new style of the hubs, Kyle. There is so much training on Wealthy Affiliate that newcomers can easily miss what's available. Having the majority of training in one place is an excellent idea.
I really appreciate that you have genuinely put loads of work into trying to get the best out of the hubs and to make the platform straightforward to navigate, etc. The downside is that if someone is promoting Wealthy Affiliate and the hubs keep changing, then they are continually having to change the content or update it, etc.
There have been a terrific amount of changes within the hubs and once again, I know that you are trying to give everyone the best experience, but I hope the hubs don't keep changing too frequently. I appreciate it's easy for someone like me to make comments, but realistically and with most things, there is a lot more to everything than meets the eye. But I wondered if perhaps when you do future updates if you could have a few beta testers rather than keep changing the face of the platform continually for everyone.
Once again, I'm not trying to undermine your efforts, this is genuine feedback and genuine thoughts.
Have a fantastic weekend.
Roy
