Diving Back into Social Media: My Latest Adventure in Bootcamp

Last week, bootcamp took me back into the wild world of social media. Once there I had to crank out content, dole out likes, engage in conversation, and try not to get caught up in the video circus. Okay, so I did get caught up in the circus and I almost applied for a job I didn’t want – stuff looks good on social media. Anyway my original Facebook post (which wasn’t just a post, it was an ad) got its fair share of likes, but the haters were out in full force. They were like a tiny extremely vocal army, marching through my comments section with their negativity flags flying high. Thankfully, a few kind souls sprinkled in some positivity.

That said, blessings also abounded! First, I had already seen three of Eric Cantu’s social media classes, and especially one where he said, “when negativity speaks speak back.” Really, when faced with negativity; silence has always been my go-to move. But Eric was right, responding to the haters was a catalyst for my personal growth! Responding to their comments enabled me to clarify the positive message of my post.

Second, I realized I wasn't supposed to be in the social media area yet. My trusty Wealthy Affiliate hub had transformed, and I mistook the next shiny item on the list for my current destination. Turns out, I had missed a few items and needed to complete them before doing social media. It’s too late for me now, I’m in and I intend to get comfy.

And third, I figured out exactly who I want on my Wealthy Affiliate team – not just any random person, but some motivated, positive, and creative go-getters who aren’t afraid to complete the training. This realization shifted my focus from "get everyone to sign up" to "find some partners."

So, what's my takeaway? Always double-check my bootcamp hub's to-do list to make sure I’m advancing to the right section. Embrace the haters – they are my secret weapon. And don't settle, carefully select the members of your team.

Thanks Kundi!

Mel

Thank you, Mel. :)

I love your positive take on this. It can be so hard to keep motivated when the negatives start to come. I, like you, used to ignore the negative comments, but I am branching out and addressing negative comments more now.

Keep up the great work! Keep your positive attitude!

Karin

I appreciate your kind words, Karin. I agree, staying positive in the face of negativity can be a challenge, but it's definitely worth it. I am basking in your positivity, thank you.

I'm so glad that nugget of advice helped you out! I think it's a critical aspect of our mindset to realize that what we might see as a setback is an actual opportunity! Anytime our content gets a negative response, it means our content is REACHING PEOPLE! All that hard work we're doing is FINDING SOMEONE. And even if they disagree with our point of view, as long as their comments aren't profane, we take that as the ball back in our court and an opportunity to reply professionally and build our authority! Keep up the great work!

Thank you so much, Eric for your insightful words and unwavering support. It truly means a lot to me. Your classes and blog posts have been an invaluable resource, giving me the knowledge and confidence to navigate the sometimes-challenging world of online business. I'm incredibly grateful for your guidance, and I look forward to continuing to learn and grow with your help. Keep up the amazing work you're doing!

You’re very welcome! Keep it up!

In my offline world I often respond to my negative reviews as often as I do for the positive ones with similar results. So I can see how it work for FB as well.
As far as the training is concerned....keep on keeping on. It sounds like you are doing great.
Thanks and Have a Great Day
Chuck

Thanks so much, Chuck. I really appreciate your encouragement. It sounds like your offline experience translates well to Facebook. I am learning a lot here. Perhaps you’ll share one of your offline strategies. I'm currently looking for ways to improve.

I agree with speaking back and seeing a resolution to issues. Some folks get others to do that, which gets it going. It gives credibility that you are willing to communicate a resolution. It is a great strategy, especially for folks sitting on the fence.

You'll notice that your sales may get a boost :)

But I understand your blog post's purpose and the points you've made.

Thanks for sharing your insights. I completely agree, open communication and seeking resolution can build trust and credibility. It can be tough sometimes, but thanks to Eric I discovered that addressing negative comments head-on can turn a negative into a positive. It's a win-win strategy and I love a good win-win solution.

You're quite welcome, Kundi :) I appreciate your blog post
