Shoutout on another website!
So recently, I've been loving a website called The Budget Babe. Their website is sorta in the same niche as mine which is great :)
They did a post that I had done something similar on so I commented, I complimented their post (as you should) because I thoroughly enjoyed the post. I also mentioned that I had recently done a post related to theirs. I didn't leave a link in the comment at all mainly because I forgot which is fine.
So, I wake up the next moring, I check my website and my stats out of habit and I came across a number. 250. I was trying to figure out what the number was for, was it my total views or what? Then I realised, it was daily views. It was one of those movie moments where you rub your eyes and check again to see if your hallucinating. But I wasn't. To say that I was stunned was a disbelief. Before this, my record for daily views was 81 and the last few days views were shocking, only in the 20s or 30s which was very disheartening.
To say I was shocked was an understatment.
After tracking down where the views were coming from, it turns out they were coming from The Budget Babe! It took me a while to really find out exactly where, but it turns out, they gave me a shoutout.
I didn't even think that they would ever do something like that for me. They are quite a larger website and I'm not (yet). So to see that they've done something like that... I'm so grateful and appreciative.
I emailed them, thanking them and letting them know that I was grateful. I just can't believe it, even now.
It may seem like nothing to some people, but to me, this is a huge deal.
Moral of the story, comment on others websites that are within the same niche, it's how people are going to know you and know that you exist. Without that one comment, I'd be stuck with 20 page views a day, and if you've read my bio, you'll know that isn't nearly enough.
