Age is only a number

Age is only a number, to which many have connected incredible importance in some way or another, it's given more meaning than it ought to. However, why not, our general surroundings, with its predominant social convictions and normal practices, builds up this reasoning that when you are older you don’t matter.

(I’ve heard that when you retire you give up and die! This is not true. I believe that when you retire a brand new world “door” of opportunity opens up for you! You need to take advantage of it!)

Consistently, even down to the language we are presented to it. From titles that incorporate words like old, senior or elderly while alluding to more established individuals to the actual meaning of maturing.

Maybe we are subconsciously instructed that maturing is some way or another a negative concept. Society thinks that age is something that makes us less competent or capable of doing anything that we want. True aging is really only a mindset in any case. We may be getting a little older but our minds are still very active and capable.

Mindset?

From the second we are born into this world, we start to get older and progress in years. It's unavoidable.

Be that as it may, arriving at a particular age doesn't mean you become imperceptible, invisible, incompetent or helpless. While we can't stop our maturing system, we can impact and somewhat control how well we age as individuals. Whether it is diet and/or exercise. Of course, sequentially speaking, age is only a number, and that you can't change, it happens to all of us. Yet, what we can really impact is our own mentality and physical health. You have that control.

"You're just as old as you feel." As opinions go, this one is imperfect of being both commonplace and accusing, as though feeling or getting older is your shortcoming.

Notwithstanding, incidentally, whoever instituted this term might have really been onto something! The fact is, age is abstract! An uplifting positive outlook and a solid dynamic way of life can keep you as youthful as you want to feel!

Age is truly just a number, there's nothing more to it. It has no restrictions! The main restrictions are the ones you set upon yourself. Henry Ford said, "“Whether you think you can, or you think you can’t–you’re right.” Those who are daring/fearless/respectful of themselves, never grow old.

The people who set out to turn into their most genuine self-form will seek out a more profound reason for themselves throughout everyday life. Therefore, when life has a purpose, time has no boundaries. When time has no boundaries, age is really just a number!

In a world that frequently restricts individuals by age, realize and believe that the sky's the limit, there is absolutely nothing that will stop you… not even your age.

Now is actually the best part of your life! You have an opportunity to do whatever it is that you wanted to accomplish with the rest of your amazing life! No matter what age you retire…

Would you like to zero in on an exciting new turn of events?

How about starting another business venture or vocation?

Work on your wellbeing and prosperity, or volunteer?

How about losing that extra few pounds or maybe starting a low impact workout routine to keep in better shape, both cardiac and strength?

Regardless of what it is you decide to do; retirement is an ideal opportunity to do everything else that you really wanted to do or try!

Now with all of this being said I do have to inject an aging side note in here…

Follow your Doctor's advice and don’t do anything that might get you hurt… even though I am older I still have that mindset of a 35 year old, deep down inside I know I can’t do some of the things that I used to be able to do. However, don’t give up!

My goal is to learn something new each day. I don't always succeed, but it doesn't stop me from trying! Thanks Kris. Best wishes, Jenni.

Learning new things keeps us going.
In one of my other lives, I was a hairstylist.
It was so sad to watch what happens when a bright mind when it just retires! Without a plan to live this next part of their lives.

Talk about miserable! I knew then, that actual retirement would not be in my plan.

So far, nothing I have seen has changed my mind. That is why I joined Wealthy Affiliate, I didn't want to be miserable when I get to that next part of my life.

Some very true words here, Kris!

Jeff

Thank you Jeff

You're very welcome, Kris, and thank you, my friend!

Jeff

I do 100km bike rides, bench press my own body weight and weigh the same as I did 60 years ago, at 18. I also have around 30 websites. So basically have to agree with you.

Being a retired person I can tell you that myself and a lot of other retired people that I know certainly don't give up and due. We are actually busier than ever. Jim
