I’m trending on Google!

The other day I revisited a keyword I had researched on in my first month with Wealthy Affiliate , typed it into Google and voila, there I was on page one! (Screenshot below, me at the bottom) I had virtually given up on this little website I had set up around this keyword. Not that I’d hoped this will be a ‘money maker’ but I was ruing my efforts spent in setting this site up. It did not take me five minutes as it’s my first stub with Wordpress and still getting a feel for things.

My biggest disappointment was that this particularly site’s homepage debuted on page twenty for the better part of its beginning. All the tweaks I tried did not help. Adding Google authorship only elevated it to around page fifteen! Intended to use it to promote Wealthy Affiliate and recall reading earlier in an SEO how to article how it’s useless being on a page other than one. So you can imagine how deflated I felt. Was feeling like all this SEO stuff is a sham!

A few weeks later I was watching Jay’s webinar on setting up a Wordpress site, ‘SEOing’ it and what not. There was this part Jay mentioned about not including affiliate links on a brand new site. Google kind of biases against such when indexing, tried and tested, not my words, ask Jay. He laid out the whole process in black and white. I later went back to my struggling site and implemented these changes but did not expect anything to change, importantly not putting any affiliate links so I went back and removed them. You marinate it first, weird! Until you get to page one first.

Here I am now on page one! This is a real morale booster and should be to any starter member. Science of psychology at work! In case things don’t work out try again until it does. Now I understand how some fellows make all that wealth online - taking action, and consistent. Thanks to all the contributors within WA.
