My WA Progress So Far
My self-evaluation of my progress thus far is as follows:
I am just finishing the Level 2 Training and the hardest part for me in all of that was trying to use WordPress. I am a real “Drag & Drop” kind of guy and trying to figure out how to get things to look like I wanted absolutely made me crazy!!! Last month I came into WA with a self-acknowledged mental block on using WordPress. I tried it three years ago before I had a stroke and didn’t like it then. Right before the stroke I abandoned the WordPress attempt and moved my Domain over to Wix.com which was all pretty much drag and drop anything where you wanted it to be. Then had the stroke and was mentally completely out of the mental capacity to do anything game.
So, when I found WA – I recognized this was a “Very Special Find” and it flipped a switch in my very tiny control room in the attic (where “normal” people have a brain) and inspired me to try the business out again.
To me – my progress has been incredible and has me wanting to learn again and actually engage with society – I had completely dropped off ALL Social Media and isolated myself from any exposure – embarrassed I guess of not even being 60 yet and having a stroke take me out. I have overcome my WordPress Mental Block thanks to my “Personal Mentor - Vitaliy G. – and I’ll bet he is wondering what is going on because I have dropped in the rankings this week (thanks to a family vacation and a campfired laptop)…. The Shooting Star went a little dim, but it will be “Burning Bright” (my Shinedown ref) Again soon!!!
NICHES: I have two niches – the first being a WA Affiliate as I have become so convinced that “WA IS THE HAPPIEST PLACE ON EARTH”!!! This is my Primary Niche that I will get up and running first before even attempting the second niche.
The second is what I called “Picture This” for my love of photography. I intend to Blog about photography, post reviews of equipment, techniques, news about photography and maybe even sell some of my own work there. I plan on getting approved to be an affiliate of some of my past retailers that I have spent thousands of dollars with buying from them over the last decade.
I will eventually include a third niche of music – instruments – specifically guitars (acoustic, electric 6 string and electric bass guitars). I play myself, having taught myself since 2011 when I was forced to retire from commercial banking. And I have spent a lot of money on my equipment – so I will be hitting up those retailers I purchased from to become an affiliate for them also. A Partnership between a retailer and a loyal customer!!!
My Successes are numerous in my book…. As I mentioned above, the biggest success is having overcome a mental road block on using WordPress!!! I still suck at it, but I am now willing to learn it at whatever cost!!!
Also, overcoming the fear, or whatever you want to call it, of exposing myself to others – especially in a public forum!!! As you can tell – I talk/type too much and the fear of embarrassment is way too real. If I can sustain the ability to confront that fear and continue to succeed at it, then my participation in WA should be a “piece of cake”…… since I love to help and share!!! I have always been that way until the stroke took all the wind out of my sails – I hope it was only temporary???
Technical issues I think I am, and can, handle very well (outside of WordPress ;-O )!!! That is, as long as I don’t start having memory difficulties like I did for the three years prior to WA!!!
My plans and goals in the upcoming 3 months are for August 2017 to make at least $500 that month – I have never made a penny online and don’t personally know anybody that has!!! So, I am extremely skeptical that it can or will happen for me. I guess I must have an ancestor that was from Missouri cuz you’ve got to “SHOW ME” The Money!!! 😉Then for September 2017 I’m shooting for $1,000 that month –
My plans and goals in the upcoming 6 months - after September 2017 I plan on it snow-balling!!! I would like to be able to make enough that my wife doesn’t have to work anymore unless she wants to!!! Also, within the next six months I would like to have my first two niches up and running and profitable so I can start on my third niche in month #7!!!

What a wonderful bio. It seems you have the same Indomitable Spirit that resides in my husband. He has been disabled since the age of 22 when he was crushed in a horendous car accident. He has had 10 operations on his right hip and leg and spent years in hospitals around the world. But he still managed to become a top-notch Commissioning (procurement) officer equiping hospitals around the world, lecturing on leadership and publishing his poetry! He is also the kindest man I've ever met!
With everything that you have been through, you have nothing to beat yourself up for. I can see the inner strength and determination that is shining in you and this will make you succeed here at WA. I am not fond of Wordpress either but I have used it for years because it is easy to use. The SEO on every page and post must be filled in but all of that is explained in the training.
Congratulations on taking on a new online business. I am very certain we shall see more of you in the coming years. We are your new family and you can't get rid of family too easily!
