Email Marketing For Building Relationships

Well it's a rainy bank holiday Monday here in the UK so I decided to focus on email marketing and write an email to people on my email subscriber list.

I must say I've had an Aweber account for several years now but over the last 6 months I've not done much with it due to time constraints.

So I wrote an email to the great people on my email subscribers list and was pleasantly surprised with the great replies and a few sales!

Some were saying they missed my emails and looked forward to getting them. This shows the power of email marketing.

The top online marketers usually say the "the money is in the relationship you have with your email list" and this is true!

It's a great way to connect with people and you can build some great relationships with people who may go onto become customers or business partners.

I use to write an email everyday to send to people on my email list and it's well documented that this is one of the best ways to connect with people in business. You can write more per day if you have the time.

For example, you can send an email in the morning which may be more of a personal nature and then another email later in the day which has more of a business tone to it.

With email marketing you are essentially creating and cultivating relationships with people. It's a lot like social media. It can work well but you have to be consistent.

We are in the business of brand building and people buy from people...people they like.

How many times have you actually bought into the brand more than the product or service itself?

I recently bought an affiliate product from someone I subscribe to on their email list because I really like the person and what they are about.

For some top marketers and companies, email marketing is their No.1 Internet marketing strategy for sales and income.

If you are building a niche or promoting an affiliate program then it's well worth considering email marketing for building relationships which ultimately may lead to sales and business partners.

Thanks for the post Kevin! I totally agree with your message. I run a basketball league with 20 teams (or around 180 players). As a way to keep in touch with the players and keep the members in the loop I send a weekly newsletter to the players (using MailChimp). As a result many of these players are engaged in helping out in the Club and many of them order basketball uniforms through me (I have a uniform supply business). I have build enough trust amongst the players that many of them not only help out as individuals but also became business partners or sponsors of the league.

Awesome post here Kevin. I agree that our business and email list is really about building relationships. Seeing our email list as REAL people who signed up because they believe in what we offer is important. I feel having an email list is definitely worth it and really helps establish better relationships. :)))

Kevin, email marketing is definitely the way to go. I learn that from another website I was on that no longer exist. I can't believe they are gone. You are right on point about building relationships from email marketing. I'll be checking with you from time to time.
