Us two boys (Landon and I) are just getting knocked around like crazy by life's hiccups! Landon decided to not follow the rules mom and I set for him when he rides his minibike. He went to the other side of the subdivision instead of staying in front of our house. I guess a couple friends of his was riding theirs and he heard them, so he had to go and race them!!! I was not home at the time only mom, so I got a phone call saying meet us at the hospital IMMEDIATLEY he needs an MRI and ex-rays!
Kevin and SonMom called me back as he was getting the gown on and as I was pulling in and she explained to me don't get onto him he feels bad enough already but explained to me what happened. He had to prove his bike was faster, so they set out on a drag race. Well, he happened to look over his shoulder to see how far ahead he was and when he looked back forward it was too late. He could NOT negotiate the turn and went straight through a fence!!! BOOM! He is lucky because less than 12" to the left he would have hit a many post set in concrete.
Kevin and Son As I walk into his emergency room, he definitely had the look of "I AM IN TROUBLE". I held it together because I had a flashback of me do a similar thing with a quad runner and then a vehicle when I got older. So, what am I to do? I stuck a closed fist out for a (FIST BUMP) and said, "DID YOU ATLEAST WIN"!!!!!??? He gave me a fist bump and happily said "yes"! Boys will be boys I guess lol!

As for me I am getting ready to take my class A-CDL to drive tractor trailers across the US. I got an all clear from my Cardiologist but to D.O.T (Department of Transportation) they want me to jump through hoops. Since I had CHF way back in 2019, they want me to do a new stress test and heart echo. I just had my yearly checkup back in June and he said everything looked good to keep all medications the same. Needless to say, I was unable to do my D.O.T physical without them and my schooling WAS supposed to start next week on the 8th. So now I am waiting to see when I can get the tests scheduled and hopefully catch the next course!

The trucking company did a background check and pulled my driving record and set up a face-to-face interview tomorrow morning first thing. We both were certain I had everything together and then this. I was hoping to be making money by now here, but I am not a lucky one obviously. So, I just pray this comes and goes quickly so I can catch some good pictures in my travels and share them with you all.

Have a wonderful day!

Hi, Kevin.

Phew! I'm glad Landon is okay. He cut quite a swath there. I'll bet the doctors made him feel better, but not nearly as good as that fist bump! Nice!

If you do get to drive OTR, take care of yourself out there.

Dave

Thank you for the kind words!

Kevin and Son

I am so thankful to hear that your son is going to be okay. Sometimes, it really hits home that we don't know the future and that time with our loved ones is absolutely the most precious thing. About 2 days after signing on with WA, in April, we lost our grandchild to unforeseen circumstances.
I love how you handled him in the emergency room. I am sure he knows a talk is coming later but it didn't need to be right then. Way to go, Dad!
I hate to hear that you are having troubles getting on the road. Hopefully, that will be cleared up soon.
I pray for a swift recovery for any injuries your son may have suffered and a quick resolution to your work troubles.
Warm wishes,
Courtney

I am so glad Landon is ok. There is nothing like remembering what we did at that age to cool down the rear chewing we want to give them.

Nancy

Wow, that could have been much worse for Landon. I'm glad he's okay!

Maybe we will see you out on the road. We spend time in rest areas and truck stops as we RV travel in the U.S.

I'm glad your son is ok, Kevin!

Some years ago, I had to go to the emergency room for my 2 daughters who were in a car accident. They were in separate rooms, but as soon as they heard me talking in the hall they started crying...etc. Its always better they learn from an experience like that.

Best wishes on working soon!

Mel

True! That what the Dr said.
