Social media update

Hi all,

I thought as social media is such a good tool for promoting our websites I would just pop on here and update you on how my social situation looks right now.

Facebook- 287 friends, most of these were before I joined WA. But I am building this slowly.

I started a Facebook fan/business page which so far has only 14 followers but I will be putting a big effort to build this page and invite relevant people to join it, I have held off inviting friends to join so far as I wanted to see how many people I could get to join from advertising it first.

Google plus is going well at- 327 people in my circle.

Pinterest, which I knew little about before has 346 followers to my board and I joined a virtual mall group that has 3.3k followers so that should be interesting. Worth noting that I am getting 110 unique visitors to my boards a month on here presently.

Twitter I am just not really getting into, and I will look to remedy that at some point in the not so far future. I only have 29 followers here.

Instagram is my next push as I have 96 followers and have just started a business page linked to my personal account which I will look to build followers on who will hopefully be interested in my content and look to visit my site.

And that’s it really, very early days but at least I have a starting point and I can grow from here.

I think it’s important to note that when you are building your following on social media, don’t lose sight of the fundamentals of being successful, such as working on new quality content for your site. It easy to get lost on social media if you don’t have a a plan of what your goals are.
