Dealing with Spam on Your Website
One week ago, I asked an open question about dealing with spam in the community. Although I had a duly installed antispam plug in, I still managed to get over 700 comments I could clearly see were spam.
No sooner would I delete one, than it will come right back. I was spending precious time deleting these unsollicited comments full of links intended to divert people from my site.
After all the excellent contributions I go from more than 20 people, I decided to install the Anstiapam Bee plug in. The results have been really amazing.
In a few days it filtered out exactly 1,141 comments marked as spam. The reason given for the spam designation is the same: CSS hack. These hackers are probably using robots to access and fill websites with links.
This post is my way of saying "Thank you! Thank you! Thank you to all those who helped me with this problem.
Wealthy Affiliates is the best online community ever.
Blessings.

I am glad it worked out for you in the end. Being determined will reward you in the end, in all aspects ^^
I am glad it is working out for you Esther. I had a spam problem too. I used Askimet--I actually paid the business price which is $5 a month-- and I haven't hadn't had a problem ever since.
I had Akismet. I paid the business price as well. For some reason I cannot understand, I had to uninstall it. Thanks for reading.
Hi Kommerbbb2, it is called AntiSpam Bee. It is a wordpress plugin. I did not know about it until I had a problem, so I will probably talk about is features when I get to know it better.

I use akismet, but can I actually install Antispam Bee as well ?
Thanks for the post Esther.

I think it's best to pick just one. So you would deactivate akismet if you were going to use antispam bee. So far I haven't had any issues with akismet. Hopefully it will stay that way.
Hey,
Nice to hear from you again.
Thanks for taking the time. Much appreciated.
