So, I just got approved for my very first affiliate, but they asked me to put in something called an "FTC advertising disclosure" onto my website. I have no idea what this is.</

Thanks! I didn't know you had to put a disclaimer on your site. I just put it as a sub header under my product reviews. Is that OK?

Yes. As long as it is placed in one spot...anywhere!

Thanks upsgirl!

You're welcome! How are things coming along? I think I told you, when you started, I live in Phoenix, AZ.

It's great! My site is coming along! I am adding content all the time, I just need more traffic! I think you did tell me where you live. The name phoenix2 is also the name of my photography business. It has special meaning to me. : )

Oh...nice! We all need traffic...where's the magic button?
See you in the Community!

I would love a magic button! : )

Oh...wait...I found one I will sell it to you for ONLY 49...lol!

I will take it! Maybe you should start a website for it! Imagine how many you could sell. : )

Act now and I will give you 2...just pay shipping and handling!
I know...hey, I will remember you when I do!

Lol!!!!

I know! LOL!

Oh I did not know you need a FTC......I bought something from Amazon from myself and I did not get anything from them so is it because it's fromysrlf?

I don't think you are supposed to buy from your own site. That's why you didn't get a commission.

Oh; I figure I Amy best customer since I use Amazon a lot for personal things why not buy from myself .. Now this rule does not make since to me at all

The rules have become a bit stricter and the affiliate disclosure needs to be on the same page/post as the advertising. Don't ever be ashamed of making money from advertisements, instead you can make it a positive statement. My affiliate disclosure is in a text widget which appears on every post/page and reads "I get paid to use my affiliate links so please buy something. Thanks." ~Marion

Oh that's what it is! I had no idea. Thank you so much for your help.

Federal trade commission.
You need to put and affiliate disclaimer on your site.

Ah-ha! Thank you for the help! I had no idea what that was.

You are very welcome Candice

Thank you Ollie! I have bookmarked it. This will help me out a lot!

It's a statement to say you receive commissions as an affiliate. To add one to your site Loes has done training. :)

Oh thank you Kathy!
