Hey Hi wonderful, awesome WA folks! ... how's everything going for everyone on this very fine day of June 2019? ....

Well, as you can see, I've been spaced out and have been experiencing what it feels like to be 'orbiting' around the earth! ... so to speak ...

Inspirational quote du jour: " People seldom see the halting and painful steps by which the most insignificant success is achieved. " ---Anne Sullivan, a great teacher, governess, famous companion & dear friend to Helen Keller.

After having been flooded outta my lil' humble abode ... we (me & my wee Swedish reindeer pup) "couch-surfed" for almost a couple o' weeks with family and super friends who graciously opened up their homes to welcome us ... anyway, with baby steps gingerly along our path of life ... restoration crews, packers & movers in play, insurance adjusters on call ... amazing number of helpers in this society ... I can now happily say that -- Y E S ! ! ! ... we've found some new beautiful albeit temporary digs to stay at for the next number of months into the foreseeable future -- a newly furnished garden suite in a family home where I can open the door and pup is out in the fenced green yard to play with her new French bulldog puppy friend who snorts like a piglet on occasion -- just too-o funny!

Enjoying an afternoon snooze under the bright sun of light in delight & comfort!

Snoozin' is good for the Soul!

All super buddies!

Remember our doggie pals teach us a lot -- they show us of how to play and have fun; with their two perky ears of how to listen well, like really hear what others are saying; and of course, the ultimate in giving, giving of unconditional love & acceptance. Those are just a few of the great reasons why they are 'people's best friends!

And of course, as pet lovers, we'd do anything for them as well as provide the best food, care & environment possible.

Now some of you may be scratching your head a bit by now asking what / how does this story relate to anything here at WA?

Well, let's go back to Anne Sullivan's quote from above.

Who was she, you might ask?

While she was best known as Anne Sullivan, an American, her full name was Johanna Mansfield Sullivan Macy and she lived from 1866 to 1936 in the United States.

Anne lived an amazing life as she overcame her trachoma that left her blind early in childhood. She worked on bettering her situation bit by bit and experienced at times excruciatingly slow steps towards obtaining a formal education.

Anne graduated at 20 and as valedictorian of her class -- she inspired many with these words: " Fellow-graduates: duty bids us go forth into active life. Let us go cheerfully, hopefully, and earnestly, and set ourselves to find our especial part. When we have found it, willingly and faithfully perform it; for every obstacle we overcome. . ."

I came across her enlightening words while regaining my own sense of 'finding' post - flooding. We all live in periods of transition during periods of perceived change. It is within these times that our greatest sense of self comes to the fore in meeting the challenge that faces us, so we need to rise and overcome it all.

Yes, climb that Hill to reach the Summit of Success! ... arduous it may be and yet in this life, we can do it!

β€œThe best and most beautiful things in the world cannot be seen or even touched. They must be felt with the heart.” --- Helen Keller.

All good things, events, people, blessings arrive at the right time and place.

Let's enjoy some treats together for a good yak-yakkity-yak!

Patience truly is a virtue --- by couch-surfing for a lil' while, we have landed in a much better place than rushing into the first hotel on offer by the insurance company ... with a beloved doggie who needs a grassy green yard to play and romp in ... being on the 18th floor of a luxury hi-rise just doesn't quite make the grade, now does it?! ... even if full service is included! ... lol ... chuckles! ...

Change is a constant. Change is dynamic. Change is ongoing.

We just need to roll with it, the best way possible.

Well, back to getting re-organized and setting up a household.

Yes, that's what's involved after an unplanned, sudden move, however, temporary.

Agree, it would be somewhat better if it had been an expected, planned one.

As the saying goes, 'c'est la vie!' ... It's life! ...

Keep well, keep happy!

Must say that I'm still floating about orbit these days -- will eventually settle back to blogging and building again sometime ..

Thanks kindly for reading today --- hope you derived some benefit from it!

As for Anne Sullivan, bizarrely I have come across the name in the last few days after Larry had mentioned Helen Keller in a reply to one of my posts.
Imagine the conversations those two would have had over the years.

Awhh-hh.Twack! ... yes, it's been awhile ... soo-o glad that lil' wee me can put a smile on your face! ... shows happiness abounds! ...

Glad you're back. We sure did missed your cheerio chatter with us. Happy to see your cheerio blog. Hope youre here to stay from this point on. Yes, Anne Sullivan and Helen Keller’s life has a very potent history for us in the Deaf community and the DeafBlind community due to American Sign Language (ASL). Helen learned how to use her tactile hands to communicate in. ASL. Thats my mother (tongue-no) hand language. I use ASL everyday and the facility where I live Deaf residents here and about 12 DeafBlind residents also along with Deaf seeing eyes staff and Director also Deaf, everyday we use ASL. If Anne Sullivan never met Helen, Helen would still be a wild child never understanding words or let alone write a book. Anne gave Helen a way to communicate and her world opened up, she became the light for many DeafBlind people and also to the Deaf Community. We all cherish their history. Curious do you know ASL?

hey hi Brenda -- delighted to see you today and appreciate you popping by ... re: sign language ... funny thing, very early on when deciding on a career, I almost went into audiology to become an audiologist and that was my first encounter with sign ...
it's amazing of all the different means of communication!

Thats awesome. Yes, sadly today many Audiologists are pushing Deaf people including DeafBlind to get Cochlear Implant. We understand its not for everyone. The implant itself does not make us hear perfectly again, its a tool, just like my digital hearing aids to help with sounds. Its surgery and it has messed some Deaf or DeafBlind people up so many choose to not use their implants any more. Most ask to get it removed or leave it never use it again. Seems to be a waste for me. I would never allow my audiologists push me for a CI. I tell them the moment they mention CI to me, out the door I go. They know better to try to push a product that I am not interested in. I know my digital hearing aids work and am satisfied with that. Hmm.. You too have a blessed week.

alas, intervention of any kind needs to be approved by the person(s) involved / affected ... i guess with technology advancing in leaps and bounds, there will be achievements that are 'non-invasive' ... the body temple is perfect as it is ... it just wears out a wee bit over time, shall we say? ...

That's wonderful to hear that your digital aids work well for you and that of course is less risk involved that anything 'implanted!' ...

enjoy a beautiful week ahead, and thanks kindly for all your sharing today, Brenda ... all the best, cheerio ... :)

Keisha!!
So glad to see you're back on your feet, and back with us!
I will echo Micheal and say you have been missed!
Shaunna

*** hey hi Shaunna! ***

Super to hear from you today and to enjoy a wee chat / visit, too!

The word 'mobile' is my new motto now (well, temporarily) ... all this surfin' about ... interesting of how much stuff one 'needs!'

Sheeze, it is fun to be back on-line with good buds here ...

please do tell -- what new and exciting and wonderful personalities have shown up during my time away? ... i see many new faces here ... :)

.... and how's Squirrel doing? ... my pup loves giving 'em chase! ...

keep well, keep happy! ... great to see you and appreciate you popping by ...

all the best, love & cheerios ... 🌈🧑🎡😊🎈

So many Squirrels... so many nuts!

Dj Squirrel has shown up recently, often playing odd tunes, or out of sync tunes (hard Rock, Ballads, Classic Rock, Country, with a bit of Mozart thrown in... I'm convinced he has a disorder).

I feel for your current situation and feel bad for the fact that I just 'assumed' that you were working diligently on SAC or other things here... (I went quiet as well for a while because of these things)...

OOOO... we have a new Furbaby! She's 5 years old, Australian Sheppard mix (coloring is a brindled Sheppard look), with the prettiest icy blue eyes!!

S

... so happy connecting with u again! ... glad to hear that things are just a chittering & chirping away!

... and yes, the beat goes on --- in the song at least! ...

well, need to catch up with myself over the next summer months ...

adjsutments, adjustments, adjustments need doing ... lol ... :)

Hi Keisha, awesome to see you back. Hope everything is getting settled.

Welcome back, you have been missed.

Michael

***hey hi Michael!*** super to enjoy a wee visit here with u today!

well, still feelin' somewhat displaced ... in shock perhaps ...

got my internet connection back to the wonderful 'new family' here ... wifi is good on go ...

whaddya think of an idea i've got -- how about a camper van lifestyle? ... can be mobile and roam the continent with puppie in tow ...

appreciate your welcome back and love & cheerios to u!

keep well, keep happy! ... 🌈🧑🎡😊🎈

Hi Keisha, I did live a lifestyle like that a while back and loved it. I got to see so much of Canada and the States.

It is an idea I do entertain quite often now. It spells a kind of freedom for me.

Once I make the big bucks here at WA maybe we will pull into the same camp site together. Awesome.

Michael

hey -- how long can one live mobile in a converted van or camper van? ..... have wheels, can travel! ...

i'm in the process of doing some initial research for the right one ... what might you suggest i look at? ...

just interested in a 'simple' one ... van-size to start ... about 20 feet in length (car length) and not an overheight ... apparently with one of these, can park anywhere --- especially in cities ...

would appreciate any suggestions, tips, helpful hints as it sounds like you'd have the 'know-how' about this ...

good to see u ... cheerio ... :)

Hi Keisha, my travels were done in a converted GMC. Many years ago.

Technology has changed so much through the years. I really would like a chance to do my own research, into what would be best for you.

I have maintained my friendships with RV place I bought my van from. I will shoot them a letter tomorrow see what is happening in 2019.

PM me your price range, remember the Canadian dollar is still quite low.

Michael

So glad to see you are getting over a little bump in the road, with the attitude we all love. MIssed you and happy you and the Boss found somewhere to stay.

Mark

Yes! ... Super to see you, too! ...

thanks so much for all your cheer -- very much appreciated ...

keep well, keep happy -- love & cheerios .... 🌈🧑🎡😊🎈

Keisha, it is really good to see you back. And I am sure the road is still rough after what you have been through.

One day at a Time.

Sonny

hey hi Sonny -- delighted to see you! ... you've got Soul! ...

yes, and thanks kindly -- it's definitely one day at a time now ...

and frankly, i now know what a displaced or homeless person feels (while i'm fortunate enough to have resources & choices though) ...

just muddlin' through it all one day at a time ... still can see the bright side of life ...

love your new photos ...

keep well, keep happy, cheerio ... love 2 u! ... 🌈🧑🎡😊🎈

Hi Keisha, good to see that you are okay and have found some new dogs.

Best wishes and when the time is right you will get back into it.

hey hi Ambassador Alex!

Really appreciate you popping by with encouragement & support ... so glad to see you, too!

keep well, keep happy!

love & cheerios ... 🌈🧑🎡😊🎈
