Gettin' There
Hey all! I've been having a bit of writer's block for a while now. Things have been picking up at home that have needed more attention. And it's taken me away from writing and posting.
I was so desperate to get back to working, but I just didn't know where to begin.
I was talking to a friend and she was saying something about how every night she's been keeping a log or journal about her day. Some days it's only about a sentence or just some quick notes. Other days, she's writing away on a lot more and many paragraphs worth of what her day has been like.
I gave that some thought. Keeping a journal is something that I've often done from the time I was a young kid. But, then I gave it up a few years ago. But, I was still thinking about this.
So, I have this app on my computer. I pulled it up and started journaling in it. I thought that maybe it would help with my writers block. It seemed to help a lot. I actually had a lot to say at the end of the day. So, by doing this, I was able to really think about what it was that I wanted to say and do within WA. I was able to reevaluate my life and how I view things. And I knew I didn't want to give up on this. I may have a lot going on at home right now, but it's going to be okay! Things are going to work out even if it takes me a while to get it going. I put every little bit of free time I can into my sites and into WA and learning.
Things are going better! I'm excited again about working with this and things are only going to get better and better :)

Well done Kay... keep plugging away!
I started using the Transcribe feature on Google Docs to kickstart the writing. Just talk out loud and it types out everything you are saying. Of course, it's usually unformatted gibberish to begin with but it gives a base to work from and evolve. Works for me at least.
Oh, that sounds good too. I may try that. But, I would totally need to enclose myself in a room all by myself, lol. Thanks for the encouragement and the idea :)
Just a sentence or two a day for a time may be what it takes to get beyond the block.

I used to journal all the time. I wish I had kept at it. What app are your using? Thank you
I'm using OneNote. I had NO idea just how awesome it was and how many things you could do with it. I seem to be on the computer so much, too, that it just seemed to make sense to journal on it :)

I am proud of you for not giving up.
We only fail if we don't try.
The daily journal is a great idea, wish I had thought of that.
I have also found that by keeping a notepad handy I jot down ideas when they come to mind on what I can write about in future posts :)
