Spring is here

Hi everyone,

Spring is finally here! It seemed like it would never come this year.

The birds are singing and the foliage is starting to come to life again. Flowers are starting to bud and flower. And the feeling of renewal is in the air.

Our neighborhood Mockingbird has returned to my avocado tree for the second year in a row.

The only bad note on this lovely spring day is this. It appears as though the hurricane season is going to be early this year. The first is already developing off the coast of Africa.

It has been forecast there will be several very large storms this year, more than last year, so I'll hope for the best.

Enough rambling for now. As always...

Have Fun,

Kathi

Today's quote:

When one door closes, another opens. But often we look so long, so regretfully, upon the closed door, that we fail to see the one that is opened for us.

Thank you for sharing this, Kathi.
Good Helen Keller quote.
Wishing you safety.
Have a great day.

Delroy

Hi Delroy,
Your welcome, its just me rambling again.😄 But, I'm glad you enjoyed it.
I love this quote too. I think most of us are guilty of it.

Have Fun,
Kathi

Thank you Kathi, you have fun too.

Spring, along with Autumn are my favourite times of the year Kathi!

I love the changes that occur all around us in these seasons!

I do hope that the storms are not as savage as predicted for you and love the quote my friend! :-)

Hi Jesse,
In my opinion, for what it's worth 😄, is Autumn is a lot like spring. Coming out of the heat to cooler temps and nice breezes, it is my second favorite season.
All the best,
Kathi

I hear you my friend.. I love coming out of freezing temps to those that are warmer.......

But..... I also love coming out of the excruciatingly high temps of the summer here as well!!

Sounds nice, but you are only talking about half the planet. Here in the other half, we are in the second month of Autumn!

Wish we had mockingbirds though.

Hi Phil,
Where are you located?
I live in Florida, so spring will only be about 3 weeks long. Then the temperature will climb into the 100s.
Autumn can be nice, too. Do your leaves change color?

Have Fun,
Kathi

Hi Kathi, I'm in Australia, which is roughly the same size as the continental United States, so a range of weather.

Where I live in Queensland is temperate to sub-tropical (Qld is a big state) so we don't have deciduous trees, but down South, particularly in the snow country, it can be a riot of Autumn colors.

Florida sounds hot and humid.

Hi,
Yes, Florida can be very hot. Our spring only lasts about 3 weeks. And then, temperatures soar into the 100s and average 75 to 80 percent humidity.
Our trees very seldom change colors in the autumn, so I miss the colorful foliage of the northern states.

Kathi

I've been to the US but only managed NYC, Virginia and D.C. Would love to go back some time and see more. Maybe an East to West road trip.

Kathi, I agree, but here in Kansas where we are expecting mid 90s (Fahrenheit) Spring is seemingly being showed out the door by Summer already! 😫

I remember Mockingbirds since they are the official State bird of Texas, where I am originally from!

Jeff

Hi Jeffrey,
Sorry to hear that. That is warm for this time of year, isn't it? It is already warming up here as well. But, when I was a girl, spring was long and sweet.

You say, remember mockingbirds, like they are no longer around. Have they gone?
The mockingbird is Florida's state bird as well.
Have Fun,
Kathi

I don't see very many mockingbirds here in Kansas, Kathi! Occasionally there will be one. More Blackbirds, Cardinals Blue Jays, etc. here! I also remember long Spings and Summers growing up. Now thise times fly by faster than anything!

Have an excellent new day!

Jeff

Jeffrey, Sigh.. you are right, time she sure does fly.
As I get older, the years get shorter, or so it seems.
We have much the same kinds of birds here. I missed the one cardinal we have once a year. But, blue jays and our family of hawks are here again.

The past two years the mockingbird has returned to this area. When he moves on, that is when I know the heat is coming.
All the best,
Kathi

It certainly does, Kathi, which is why that as we get older, Time if the most important and scarce resource!

Every time I see a Cardinal, I feel like the spirit of my beloved Grandmother is there encouraging me!

In fact, I wrote about this quite a while back! Yes, the heat is definitely coming, my friend!

Have an enjoyable new week!

Jeff

Thank you, Jeffrey.. please do the same.
Kathi

You're very welcome. Kathi, and I will!

Jeff
