What is your dream job?
This thought came to my mind the other day. What is my dream job?
I had just finished an interview with a 4th generation farmer. He was saying farming was his "hobby" and he's never had a job. I thought that was a pretty cool way to look at it.
"If you love what you do, you will never work a day in your life." That was a quote I received from another interview I had done earlier this spring.
I thought then and again last week, "What is my dream job?"
I know it involves writing. I'm not always the best at it, but I love doing it. Writing is my lifelong passion.
So I thought about this:I had to fix the AI generated cartoon panel in Canva. I'm not very good at Canva yet, so it isn't ideal but AI is getting better with words. It just had an extra word in the bubble above the woman so I had to fix it.
But this illustration nails what I have always envisioned for my life. I don't have a "regular" job.
I learned a few years ago that JOB means Just Over Broke. Well, lately, even with a full-time and a part-time job I am not just over broke, but falling deeper and deeper into debt.
A lot of this stems from my spouse leaving and leaving me with most of the debts like the house, the new van, credit cards, etc. But this isn't about blame or who did what. It is about a JOB.
Admittedly there have been many times when I have really enjoyed my work and not thought of it as a job, but lately it feels like all I do is work work work!
I'm quite tired. So I am working harder to make it so I don't have to "work" anymore. Doing my websites doesn't feel like a job. Writing a book or a Vella episode does not feel like a job.
In my dreams, I don't have a job! How about you?

Yep. Me, too, Jeff! The main one is where I can sleep in and get up at 9 a.m. and be up until at least midnight!

Hi Karin,
Then it sounds like a dream job, but a good one. :)
Great article and I love what you've done with the images. :)

Hi Karin
I am lucky enough to have a dream job and make a good living at it, which is helping people get well and saving lives.
I did that 8 to 12 hours a day, 6 to 7 days a week for 40 years, and never considered it a “job.”
These days, I work part-time as a physician doing consults in the hospital for surgical clearance. I’ll fully retire within a year if my wife has anything to say about it, which she definitely does. Lol
The online marketing gig is essentially a part of my music hobby. 😎

Amazing, Frank. That is really cool.
When I am liking my day job, I consider myself someone who records history because one day, the old newspapers that I wrote articles for will be searched for information on a loved one or when the mill was built or which basketball team won the BIG game.
Karin
Yep. That is on the days I love my job! LOL. The other days I am still doing the same thing, but on days I love my job, I enjoy recording history much more!

I've thought about a few dream jobs in my time Karin!
Being a professional golfer or snooker player were a couple of my aspirations in my youth.... but a nasty car accident in my early 20's when I nearly lost my left hand put an end to them unfortunately!
I am just grateful I survived!
Travel and food blogger sounds great to me but, after getting married too young the responsibilities have piled up and it looks like I have missed that window!!
Nevermind though, life goes on and we all need to make the most of each and every day we are given! :-)
Things change, usually with a purpose, in my humble opinion. Things happen to guide us toward the thing or things we are meant to do. I am glad you survived the accident. I’m glad to see your positive attitude in spite of difficulties.
Karin
We all need to stay positive no matter what life throws at us my friend! :-)
