The prompt I use in AI for creating a consistent writing schedule

I had a few requests for this so I thought I would write a post about it. (I also sent it directly to those who requested it. So this is a copy/paste from that message along with additional information for clarity.)

Here is the prompt that I use. Just swap out my blog site titles for your own. Because I also do other writing for Vella, those are included. You can easily take that part out. I also later updated the prompt to include writing a post for the Wealthy Affiliate Community.

If ChatGPT or other AI does not give you what you expect, ask it to redo it until it gets it right. I was lucky, it got it right on the second try. That is why I wrote "I do not need set times," because it had me getting up and writing at 5:30 a.m. and finishing at 10:30 p.m. with writing and working interspersed throughout the day. If it works better for you to have set times, then add to the prompt that you would like set times. Be sure to specify what time you get up, times you work or have regularly scheduled things and when you go to bed.

I asked for blog post ideas but I often change the topic so those are just suggestions that ChatGPT thinks would be good ones. This can be a great time-saving option.

Here is the prompt I use:

"I need to update my blog post and writing schedule. I do not need set times. What I need is what articles I need to write each day. So here is what I want:

Every other day I want to write a post for two of my sites: (I didn't want to violate WA protocol so just add your site name or names here. You can see my sites on my profile page if you want to follow me on any of them.)

So to be clear, each day should list two sites to write blog posts for. If you can, I would also like suggestions of blog post contents.

Secondly, every day I need to write a 600 word Vella episode for one of my Vella stories. Here are those stories: The Little Black Dog; Worthy; and Unbidden."

This is an example of what the last four days of August looked like:

I often have other ideas or have already written on a topic so the post ideas I ask for are merely suggestions. If I like one, I type it into my Hubs for that site and let the AI writer on WA handle the work. Then I go through and edit the post adding my personal insights and stories to the post. I add pix and then I publish it!

This works really well for me because I can, at a glance, see what I have yet to do for the day as far as writing goes.

I would love to say it ALWAYS works out, but that would be a falsehood! It's now Sunday and I still have yesterday's posts to write! But no worries. I have today and tomorrow off from the day job so I will get those done today and tomorrow.

I hope you find this post and the prompt helpful. There is a lot AI can help you with if you treat it as an assistant to help you with your work. Having this writing schedule laid out for me helps me—A LOT! It is one less thing that I have to worry about in my hectic day!
