Sometimes we all need help

I was listening to a Monday morning meeting that I attend. It's early for me, so sometimes it can be really hard to be at it. It's over Zoom which helps, but still... I usually spend most of the night awake for fear of getting up late and missing it.

This morning the host talked about not being afraid to hire help.

I thought, "Well that is great to say, but when I am not even making ends meet, how can I possibly add another expense into an already broken budget?"

So I thought about it. I could cut my expenses. There are areas where I could cut. It wouldn't be ideal, but I could do it.

I could cash out my 401K. That would be less than ideal because of the penalties and taxes I would have to pay.

I could get another job, but since I already work a full-time job, a part-time job and manage four blogs along with my writing business, I'm not sure where I would fit in another job.

I could ask for a raise. But since the day job boss complains about losing money now, I am guessing that would not work. I thought about going straight commission, but the ad sales have been pretty slim lately and I cannot survive on $200 a week.

So, what to do?

I decided to talk to the host about it. I haven't done it yet, but I am going to after work today. I want to see what things I could do to maybe make more money so I can hire someone to do some of the tasks for me so that I don't have to them and I can work on the things I like to do or am better at. Perhaps someone to make my social media posts. Perhaps someone to help me with marketing.

There are many options and they wouldn't have to cost too much. Fiver, UpWork and so many others that the host talked about.

I do need help with my businesses—I am at that point where expansion can only happen if I either quit my jobs or hire someone. I am thinking "hire someone" is the option I need to explore at this point!

What do you think? Do any of you hire some help? If so, how has that worked for you? Where did you hire them from and was it cost effective?

I would love to have some ideas!

Thanks!

Karin

Wow, Karin, very impressive work schedule! 👍

I know you’re already using AI for your online business, but have you automated it to the point where its a real time saver?

Think about ways you can use AI more creatively to your advantage. 😎

Frank 🎸

I have been exploring that. I do have AI create my Facebook and Pinterest posts, but I'm not sure how to automate that. I will be looking into that. I will ask AI how to automate it! It should have an answer for me!

Thanks for the suggestion/idea, Frank!

Karin

You’re welcome, Karin. 😎

Good luck!

Frank 🎸

I hear your dilemma Karin and know exactly where you are coming from but...

And I mean this with all greatest respect ok...

You are working on four different websites simultaneously correct??

If so, I would just focus on one until it gives you a decent income, then expand!!

Just my opinion here my friend and all the very best moving forward! :-)

I hear you, Nick. I assume I could do that, but now with around 30 posts on each, I hate to back off now and lose any momentum I have gained.

The AI writer on WA does help take some of the load off, but still there is a lot of refining and putting in my personal experiences to make it flow the way I want.

I have cut back on the # of posts per week, but am still doing 8 posts total each week (2 per site). It is working for me right now, but I actually may have to consider hiring a ghost writer for my other business—although my brain is constantly thinking of more things to write about there, too!

Thank you for your care and concern, Nick. I appreciate it and I certainly will consider perhaps even going to one post per week on three of the sites and twice per week on the main one which is the affiliate marketing one.

Thanks again!

Karin

Two per site per week seems like a great plan Karin... them see which one takes off and dedicate more time to it whilst updating the others now and again!

Remember that our health is our wealth my friend and we should never jeopardise it!

👍😊

Great point! Thank you, Nick. Taken under advisement. 😎

Hmmm. For me that's a no-no. When I did need help it was strictly on a short term contractor basis.
Difficult.
Bux

I would definitely only be doing short-term contractor basis work because I would have a heck of a time paying them to work even part time.

Thanks for the suggestion for the contractor basis.

Karin

Be careful using ""friends""
I had one friend that I paid on a day rate, he would stretch a three day job to five days.
I changed the rules. I told him what he was being paid for the job whether it took him two days five days or seven. That stirred him into action, but I did drop him as soon as I could. Still friends.
Be good, be careful.

Yeah, I have often thought about hiring friends, but I want to keep them as friends, so, probably will not happen unless I am desperate!

Karin

Hi Karin!

Taking on people to represent yourself can be troublesome if all they are in it for is the money. I would not hire an employee but a 1099 contractor who gets paid for performance. If they meet your goals, they get paid. Tax-wise, it is also easier as you scale your business.

Best wishes moving forward with your search for help!

Thanks, Howard. I am going to look into that since both you and Bux have suggested it.

Thank you.

Karin

My Pleasure, Karin!

Again, best wishes in your search for the right person to assist you in growing your business!
