Do it anyway
I'm going to be honest with you all—I don't always have a positive attitude! (I know, hard to believe right?!?)
It's true. I try to only post positive things on this site because I want to be encouraging—even if I am not 100% feeling it myself.
I have days where I feel like giving up.
I have days when I think, "The time I am spending writing all these posts each week and putting the links out to social media and trying to build an audience could be better spent on another part-time job."
I have days when I am tired and don't want to do another thing.
But I do them anyway.
I DO THEM ANYWAY!
Get it? That is the key. You do it anyway!
When I have spent a day at the 9-5 job and then had to run around and put out "fires" with family issues and my part-time job and I promised my granddaughter I would take her to the movies and I don't get home until almost midnight...I DO IT ANYWAY!
I am not a superwoman by any means. I simply need to do these things because I don't want to have to rely on anyone else for my income (as in a JOB—Just Over Broke). I want to be able to afford health insurance. I want to be able to give my granddaughter things she wants and needs.
The only way to do those things is to DO THE WORK ANYWAY.
Do I like spending hours writing posts and then creating links on social media for them? Well, I do enjoy writing the posts, but posting things on social media—not so much. BUT I DO IT ANYWAY because I know it works.
I am happy to help anyone who wants it along their journey. I don't know everything—not even close—but what I do know, I am very willing to share. Do I want to do that? Not always. BUT I DO IT ANYWAY because first and foremost I am here to help others along their journeys as well. If I wasn't willing to help, I wouldn't post these blogs. I wouldn't reply with detailed replies very often. I wouldn't answer the private messages. I wouldn't do anything that did not benefit me.
But I want us all to succeed. Even those who want to give up. Even those who don't want to do all they can to succeed. Even those who complain because it is too hard. I DO IT ANYWAY because I know there will be several of you that will keep going. You will keep pushing forward. YOU WILL DO IT ANYWAY!
If I am able to help and you ask me for help, I will do it. Please feel free to reach out.

Spot on, I think this is the 'Truest" blog today.
Being motivated is great, but I don't think anyone can stay motivated for a long time. I would love to say.." I jump out of bed everyday screaming.." I loveWA and cant wait to start my new post and talk to all those 'twats' ...woops...wonderful people on Social Media..lol"
Habit and sheer stubbornness with a dash of "bastedry" is my fallback, with a reward of some description at the end of the day.

What a great post! I’m going to share this with my mom. She was having a rough day and I think this is exactly what she needs. She’s thinking about joining the community and as a new member myself I’ve done nothing but tell her how great and uplifting everyone is so far.
I hope that this shows her that we are a pretty awesome bunch! I hope she does join. I think she will find that she will be very supported by the community if she reaches out!

Yep. I agree with you on the social media. It can be a real energy and time suck. That part takes me the longest simply because I get wrapped up. I have to really discipline myself to make sure I don't start scrolling! I make my posts, I share the posts and then I get off of it otherwise I can end up spending hours...
I love that child so much! We are now having to fight her absentee mother for custody because after 10 years of really not having much to do with her, her mother suddenly wants to play "mommy." It's frustrating. It's draining. But I will do anything that little girl needs because she is worth it.

Hello Karin, I am so sorry your having to deal with a custody battle and prove that your grand daughter is well provided for in your care and that your concerns with her safety are valid.
Yes social media can divert the attention for many hours your so right, me too I get on an do my posts and then reply to people as the day goes by.

I love a positive attitude - to me it is the oil that makes life work. Without it, things can clog up and start to cause problems; with it, life works much better. That doesn't mean you have to be 'happy clappy' all the time, but in those 'down' moments, just appreciate what you do have and you can start to climb back up the emotional scale.
