How to Have Your Pic Show On your website in Search Results!

Now I'm sure a lot of you have been noticing that when you run certain searches in Google, a lot of the websites in the search results have pictures next to the web pages.
I've heard that doing this for your own website involves jumping through a few hoops and making changes to every one of your posts AND pages.
Well, I am all about finding a simple way to do things so guess what I did? I found a PLUGIN to do it for me.
And best of all it is absolutely free.
The name of the plugin is "Google Plus Authorship" which you can find easy enough by searching for new plugins once you log into your wordpress dashboard.
The process was pretty straight forward and I was up and running in about 10 mins for my three main sites.
Here are the steps to set this up.
Installation
Step 1
Download the zip file
Extract the contents
Upload the folder google-plus-authorship to your WP plugin folder /wp-content/plugins/ directory
Go to Plugins > Plugins, and activate the plugin
Step 2
Go to Wodpress Admin Panel > Users > Your Profile, and Fill in Your Google Profile URL and Your Name
Step 3
Get a link back from your Google Plus Profile
Sign in your Google profile.
Click Edit profile.
Click the Contributor To section on the right, and then click Add custom link. Get a link from their. ( For the first time, add a link from description area, other profiles, contributor to, and from recommended link.
Click Save.
Here is a screenshot of my page showing up for one of my keywords.
I could be wrong but this does seem to help my rankings a little bit. I also use the rank tracker plugin and my page fell out of the top 100 for a few keywords. A few days after setting this up, the page is now ranked in the top 25 for that keyword.
The ranking change could be more google tweaks...but I like the way my pages stand out now!
