My WA Update
My Wealthy Affiliate Journey (To This Point)
So this is how it's gonna be? I see how it is. Y'all Affiliate Marketers out there are all doing it. And it's simply amazing.
What in the $%#^#% am I talking about? Wealthy Affiliate duhhh.
Seriously though I have been through so many training modules on so many other sites.
Without a shadow of a doubt the training on the Wealthy Affiliate Program has helped me in ways that no other training has and I'm eternally great full.
From Day One
- The training had my 1st site up and running
- I had earned my first dollar on WA
- I hadn't spent a dime on hosting or training
- Kyle and Carson both reached out to me
- I was greeted with such enthusiasm from the community
And this is just day 1.
After 1 Week
After my first week at WA I decided to take advantage of the $19 premium offer because I had exhausted all free aspects of the site.
After becoming Premium I was again greeted with amazing enthusiasm from the community and that drove me to try harder and be more resourceful.
So I hit the premium training hard as can be and completed the Affiliate Bootcamp training all the way through.
I then realized that the Online Entrepreneur Certification was still available. So, I started to hit that side of things and here I am.
1 Month In
My website that I have been building ranks on 1st page google for my Wealthy Affiliate Review 2020
I'm multiple and scared all at the same time. I did everything I was supposed to and now I am ranked on first page for the key phrase "Wealthy Affiliate Review 2020"
WOW
I am in shock at this point. So I decided to write a few more posts to create some depth within my website. I created a home page, about us, privacy policy and custom profiles for users looking to join our email list.
2 months later - 3 months Total
My website has had its issues to this point and I have had to remove some plugins that were recommended by the training when first setting up the site. Instead, I went with a few different options and now my site rates in the 90th percentile for speed.
That is so amazing. I have spent so much time on and off the WA site learning and compiling information that helps my site get traffic organically.
And now I have it. For at least one key phrase.
Today is Halloween 2019 and I am very optimistic that my future looks good at WA.
Final Thought
Even though the WA platform has provided me all these tools, I have yet to recruit a single premium member.
My issue comes because I use "Pretty Links" to cloak my affiliate links as recommended by Kyles training. That plugin not only cloaks the link so your affiliate ID cant be ripped off, it also shows how many clicks each link has as well as how many of those clicks were "unique".
As of today my Pretty Links plugin shows about 50 more unique clicks than what the WA dashboard shows.
And this is true with multiple affiliate networks. Just yesterday I had to email Clickfunnels because my link count was over 100 and they were showing 6 on my dashboard. Although out of those 6 I had 3 join for the free trial and 1 joined the top tier offer. That one referral pays me $120 per month.
I have created 9 tier 2 affiliates in the Health & Wellness niche since building the site.
I have to say that it is a bit frustrating to have conflicting analytic info.
There is no accountability on the part of the corporate office to show all traffic that you generate.
They may promise to but the fact is, they can and why wouldn't they.
I mean, Why would they pay out an affiliate commission if they didn't have to.
This being said,
The system has only one flaw.
And that flaw is the same with any affiliate network.
Trust!!!
Without trust, it's just a scam. IMO.
Thank you for reading.
Cheers,
Jay.

Wow, that is all very interesting Jay.
I'm not sure I have enough background knowledge to assess fully what you're saying.
It would be interesting to know which plugins you had to remove that were recommended... are you able to share that?
My main concern right now is more basic... I have asked about it but have assumed that it might come up in more training, and that is that fact my sign in for the one website I've created is just "admin" and that was added automatically with the installation of Wordpress that happens on this site.
That might seem like a very minor issue to some, but without my usual access to plugins like Wordfence, (I'm just following the training at this stage and not adding any extra plugins) I can't see as yet if there are or are going to be a lot of brute-force attempts. I don't know enough about the backend of development to know if that is a big concern in this setting.
I have in the past had a website hacked, and I was at that time disappointed with the hosting that they didn't seem to want to help me resolve it properly... they simply stated it hadn't happened. I simply cleared a lot of the junk, but I felt sure there were probably things hidden amongst my files, which I didn't have enough knowledge or time or money to investigate... and as there wasn't a lot of content or traffic, it was just cheaper for me to close the website down and start again.
I sure have a lot to learn, and at this stage I'm going through the other training (not the affiliate bootcamp like I think you are?), so it might be a different journey for me.
I am trying to just go through the training as I get enough time and learn one thing at a time.
I have to admit I have learnt so much at this stage.
As a special note, I have noticed that some people have noticed that there are various glitches in this site lately. Could that be related to what you have experienced.
Either way, I'm very interested to see how this pans out.

Hello Jacquie,
So the plugin "JetPack" was hindering my site emensily.
I contacted support about why my site health showed errors.
(Image included)
They looked at my account and told me to remove jetpack. This had an emidiate impact on my site speed and site rank.
I have used a different plugin for image uploads, lazy loading video and also decided to use Yoast SEO instead of the one they reccomend.
I hope this helps you out.
Cheers,
Jay
Thanks Jay,
Very helpful thank you.
Yes I have looked at Yoast SEO previously, and had thought that was the SEO plugin I would use with any Wordpress site from then on, as it has such a good reputation. That was until I got onto WA.
Kind regards,
Jacquie
I must say your post inspires me and gives me more hope. Although I've begun the training, I wonder if I should jump into the Bootcamp. Keep up the great work.
I mean, If you want to get on the path that produces income, i would suggest getting a site built asap
It sounds like you have the experience to approach this from a 180-degree angle from where you are right now...I mean rather than promote products, create one and sell it in the market...
Why not create your own products, list them on a major platform (I prefer PayKickStart), add an affiliate program, and let others promote your product(s)?
You know the affiliate side as a promoter, tap into the power of affiliate marketing as a seller/provider perhaps in addition to what you may be doing now?
I have been exploring and waiting to see what the process might be to get our products listed here. That would be great as there are a lot of MMO marketers on the platform that could help market your own products...
In any case, it does sound like you are drilling down on the whole market segment and will be fine over time (if that is possible, there are always improvements to be made)...
Best of luck and I would consider using a different tracker from Pretty Links that will give you more information, like heat maps, etc, so you can see what people are doing on your site too...
Cheers!
Dave : )
Thank you for your encouragment. I will look into the other options as well as create a product to sell.
Cheers

Thanks for sharing you experience. It's helpful. I was wondering if it's better to work through the rest of the entrepreneur training or start boot camp. I'm glad you are seeing great progress.
I did the bootcamp first because I was so ready to get the game started. What i found was that the information between the two are simular and sometimes the same. It's good to reiterate so i dont mind.
Hi. Jay. It can take a fair but of time and effort to earn a living from affiliate marketing. It took me six months to get first affiliate sale. Jim
On WA?
I have created multiple sales from other affiliate networks within the last 3 months. WA seems to be the slowest to accrue but the Google search console says my Wealthy Affiliate Review is my best and most clicked on affiliate link. It's confusing is all and makes me wonder what is going on with my site. Maybe my links are broken or something.
