Discouraged......

I have been writing articles, bookmarking, etc. for a few weeks and I am getting some traffic but not making any sales. Is there something I am not doing right? Do I need to change something?

I know the feeling! I've gotten some sales, yet it didn't come quickly. As a matter of fact, I just blogged yesterday about a check I got for $6.69. At first I felt "disappointed". I soon realized
that the $6.69 was a success, albeit a small one. So much of this Internet Marketing is about attitude. I love what Jonathan93
wrote. Don't give up! The simple fact that you are getting "clicks" means you're heading down the right road! Keep it up!

Jturpin, article marketing and attracting traffic through SEO isn't a 100-meter dash. It's a slow-paced marathon, a la the Tortoise and the Hare. Keep going, keep doing what you're doing, and keep believing in yourself. Donj't give up, most of all. Yes. follow the advice of your mentors to tweak things here and there, and ... /stay/ /damn/ /relevant/ /to/ /your/ /keywords/, but otherwise, keep going.

You won't hit a grand slam but once or twice in this business. But the singles and doubles add up as you put in a day's work, day after day after day after day. Keep going. You'll get there, and when you do, buy me a beer.

Hope this helps,

Thanks everyone for the encouraging feedback. I am tweaking my site now, hopefully that will help. My click through rate on my articles came up from 16-17% to 20% in the last couple days, so that is good!

Marcus told me this when I was having this problem with my articles - Lo0k at your source box. Give them the element of curiosity or mystery. You've got to have something there that spawns their curiosity or in some other way compelling. Not sure if this is your problem but one thing to look at.

Don't get discouraged, you're right where you should be.

Remember, the best converting sales page will only make one sale for every 25 to 30 targeted hits it gets and only a fraction of the traffic you're getting will actually click through to any given offer you're promoting.

The point is, it takes time. :)

The tutorial on Buyer Purchase Lifecycle might help. That may not be the exact name, but try searching for it in the training center. All the very best to you! Cute little angel you have there!

Wow, just a few weeks and you're getting traffic, that's great! If you're not making any sales then something probably needs to be changed. I think the people below gave some good advice. It's all part of the process.

Hmmmm, don't be discouraged because now the fun starts. Sometimes the slightest tweak can make all the difference. Sometimes you need to tweak a keyword to make it a more immediate "buying" keyword. Sometimes you need to stress the "benefits" in your sales copy. Move them into an offer they can't refuse.

Converting traffic to get a sale/s is the hardest part. A lot of factors impact this, from your niche selection, to how targeted your traffic is, to how well your sales copy converts into sales, and etc... One way to improve this is to find a somewhat similar affiliate site that sells to your type of niche and see how their site looks like. Model already successful sites, in their design, copy and content. Continue doing what you've been doing, as traffic takes time to start rolling in after your articles gets picked up and indexed and republished. Time seems like your enemy right now as you want sales now. But Time can also be your ally, use it well and don't give up!

Maybe what you are trying to promote isn't too hot. No one can really help you unless you go into details. Why don't you contact one of your buddies who is already an IM expert and give them the details. I see in the forum that DABK loves to help people and knows his stuff. I've seen a few people thanking him when they make their first sale. I'm no expert so can't give too much advice. Good luck to ya. -Irma
