The cost of my online business
So, I weighed up the cost of everything that I have spent so far, and I thought it might be worth sharing with the community (currency is UK; GBP).
Obviously the primary expense is WA; however, I was curious to see how many other costs you guys have decided to fork out for?
Here is a list of my outgoings so far:
MONTHLY:
- Wealthy Affiliate = £35
- Jaaxy = £15
YEARLY:
- Grammarly = £105
- Website = £10
PAY-AS-YOU-GO:
- CanStock Photo = £80 (for 85 images; I have 28 left)
- Logo = £40 (budget; I have not actually bought this yet)
I can imagine that a fair few WA members have just forked out for the bare minimum; WA membership and the cost of the website.
I am more than serious about making this work, so I am happy to spend a little extra to help me along the way.
Jaaxy is worth every penny (Site Rank is awesome)
Grammarly is worth every penny
Having great images is worth every penny (CanStock Photo)
What other expenses have you guys had to (optionally) spend to help your website along?

I don't pay for Grammarly, I use the free version, but I am an English speaker
Wealthy Affiliate monthly
Domain annual
Free photos - Pixaby
I do need to add a portion of my monthly data usage
I had a one-time charge for a pro version of my theme
That's about it for me.

Thanks for sharing. Curious on the pro version of your theme, that's something I'd look into.
BTW, I ran one of your articles through Grammarly premium, and it picked up 10 critical errors, and 29 advanced errors!
Hi JoshyT,
I don't look at the funds paid out for developing my online business as a cost....it is more of an investment.
Not much different than going to university, you need to pay to learn and earn an income.

Exactly. This is the point I argue when people tell me "I'm an idiot for parting with cash online; it's obviously a scam".
Errm, let's say you bought a shop (website). You need to pay for the education to succeed (WA). You need banners and logos (images). The ONLY difference is the fact that I can run my business from home, but every business has overheads.
This is what the numpties I work with seem to fail to understand.
Granted - but from a business perspective, being aware of the costs is important and it's a key component of planning.
I am using Grammarly but only the free version. I know the paid version allows you to check for plagiarism, what else?
Cheers Kev
ps Great post, thanks
Hey Kev. Grammarly premium is awesome, and there is too much to cover in one small post, so I'm going to direct you to my Grammarly review:

Thanks for the link. I use the free version too and I was curious about what the paid has to offer.
Hi... Thanks for sharing...
It's pretty much the same to me... however, I'm still using the free version of Grammarly... I use Pixabay for free images, but I added like US$60 for a Pro Theme.
I've been thinking to go Pro on Grammarly, so I'll probably upgrade it soon.
Buffer: $10/month (but I share it with a customer, so I don't really pay for it, she does).
You can find a Logo in Fiverr, there are pretty good people, or maybe in People Per Hour if you like to talk to UK designers.
I sold some services on Fiverr and made some money which helped me to pay for this, especially for the annual subscription at WA.
Affiliate marketing has been slow, but I hope this will be the major business soon.
CanStockPhoto is definitely the best priced, however, I always search for free images first: Easiest way to find FREE royalty-free images What's Buffer?
I've been thinking of buying and selling on Fiverr. The only reason I wish to sell is to get the experience to then write a review on the site (being in the making money online niche and all).
I'll definitely keep my options open in regards to a logo. I'm not too desperate yet!
I expect approximately anywhere between 12 and 18 months or so before it really takes off to be able to quit my job!
Hi, Buffer is https://buffer.com/ where you can schedule your future post on different social media networks, especially the five most popular like Facebook, Google+, Instagram, Twitter, and Pinterest.
You can program one post and at the same time, publish it those.
It has queues for different frequencies depending on the network and some analytics depending on your account.
I wrote a couple of articles on my website: http://insalesnow.com/ and of course, Fiverr also has an affiliate program through LinkShare.
