Writing Tips For Begginners
I Joined Wealthy Affiliates Premium 5 days ago and have struggled with writing and creating content.
It takes me 2 hours to write 1000 words.
While I feel that I am getting better, I still have a long way to go.
I really don't enjoy writing, it gives me nightmares and flashbacks about the traumatic English classes that I took in middle school and high school.
I am worried that my writing will sound boring, or that people won't want to read it.
Personally, there are times that I will visit a website and automatically leave because there are too many advertisements. The first thing I think is Warning, Warning, Warning, SCAM ALERT.
How will I get my website visitors to stay for more than 2 seconds?
How can I create content that intersts and excites my reader?
The good news is, my website is starting to look like a real business and I have acheived a lot in just 5 days.
As you guys can see, I still have 0 % Site Trust, 20 % engagement, 20% Visitor Engagement, howand only 10 % Website Feedback.
I appreciate you guys taking the time to read this post, any writing tips would be appreciated.

Biggest tip - stop worrying about the time it takes.
2 hours is actually very very good. It still takes me almost a full day to write and publish one post. If I manage 7 posts a a week I will consider it a success.
As a newbie, if you can manege 3 posts a week for your first month, you will be doing very very well, in my view.
Quality rather than quantity. Get your keyword research right and your on for a winner if you are posting 3 times a week for the next year.
Thanks Lawrence, sometimes it takes me more than 2 hours, because I am also doing research and making sure I don't include erroneous or possibly harmful facts to people. Maybe I should choose a niche outside of weight gain and health because the tends to be scientific in nature. For example, If I am writing a review on protein powder, I feel the need to start explaining how the powder interreacts with your body and the ingredients, etc.
Try and set out a limit on how deep you go into detail.
i.e. If your writing a review on protein powder , There are probably multiple protein powders out there. Write 3 reviews at the same time. and then a fourth internal 'scientific' article on how the powder interacts with our body etc.
Bang you have four articles (3 of which are using the same template) , but have only done 1 lot of research. And you have a whole load of internal links that SEO loves.
Writing is considered an ongoing skill... You will pick a starting point each week, month, and year to reach.
Once you pass those milestones... reward yourself. After that, you continue to aim higher.
I hated doing it 3 years ago but have written close to 2 million words now.
Search for Plain English and copywriting courses. Those teach you to write with intent and in useful ways.
Holy Canoli ! 2 million words ?! Do you have any copywriting links you would recommend ? Thanks sir
Communication skills give you a focus on stuff to learn about...
Writing just happens to be pretty easy once you learn the information.
Then a focus on copywriting or plain English helps to say what you know more concisely... fewer words but the most important ones.
Anyway, the link I PMed you will give you a great source to start with.
You also mention that you are worried about how other people perceive you. That is called fear of success and failure.
Once you learn how to create a standard for yourself... You will be able to stop caring what other people say.
That can reduce the worry, self-doubts, and fears since you are only answering to yourself and not performing for others.
I remind myself daily that my goal each day is to make content that helps people to make progress in their lives...
By helping others first I know from my own self-belief that people will be much more likely to reciprocate when I promote products.
That should give you the grounds for a great foundation to build on.
Hey Josh,
I know writing can be a bit of a strain at times but unfortunately, it's one of those tasks we need to do - or a form of it anyway.
Have you thought about creating videos?
Also, recently I started to use Google docs and voice typing.
Open up a doc in Google, go to Tools and then voice typing.
Honestly, it works. Not all words come out the right way and there are some grammatical errors, but I can talk 1,000 words away in about 15 minutes. All I have to do then is proofread and update to make sense.
It sounds crazy I know, but it will give you a break from typing if you struggle. I have only just recently done half of a review post by just talking and then checking.
You could also get a phone app like Dictate and just chat away whenever an idea comes to mind - that's something else I do and it has helped as I tend to have most of my ideas when I'm out and about and not by my PC.
All the best, Mark
That's interesting, I haven't really thought about talking instead of typing. I would love to read some of your past posts and check them out/use them for inspiration. Thanks for your help
Hi Josh, most of my posts nowadays are reviews for affiliate programs. I tend to look at the site I'm reviewing and talk about the company, commissions, cookies etc. and then check out feedback and reviews from the users and incorporate those where I can.
There is some great training in the live events section that has been posted in the past month with reference to writing content. You should check it out. Writing Awesome Content That Ranks
Hi - you are actually breaking one of the rules here, by using that headline.
"No "clickbait" titles. The title of your post must represent the content you write. Do not create titles that are confusing and that have the purpose of attracting the most clicks as possible."
Here is a link to all the rules. Spam is a NO NO!
Surely boring is better than being banned? Anyway, 2 hours is actually pretty good for 1000 words. Don't worry about being boring, just don't write in a formal fashion, as though it's a Wikipedia entry, just make it conversational and chatty.

One more thing, this is all new to you. Don't rush. Slow and steady like a snail. Think about the Hare and the Tortus story. Eventhough the Hare was fast, he lost the race. He didn't take any short cuts.
It just kept going at his own pace.
He was slow but he was consistent and didn't take any short cuts.
You are doing good man.
Stay bless!
Respect. I appreciate you man, kind of tired and not feeling the writing thing today. This was a much needed boost.
You are welcome my brother 👊
