Google have two main processes here, indexing and ranking.
Indexing means they know about your website and have added it to their database
Ranking is about where you appear in the search results, based on how relevant your content is to the end user. This is based on their search term and previous search history etc.
To speed up indexing, you can submit your sitemap to Google Search Console and make sure you publish posts on a regular basis. The more active your website is, the more frequently the Google Bots/Spiders will visit to find new content.
For ranking, the more mature your content is, will help with bringing you up the search results. Which is why most peope say if you are publshing 2-3 posts per week, by months 3-6 you'll have a decent amount of regular traffic. As Google will trust your website and that you are providing unique quality information, that benefits its users.
Follow the training, submit your sitemap, find the right keywords and publish on a regular schedule and you'll soon be indexed and well ranked.
Hope this makes sense and helps,

Hi Chrystopher
Where do I find the Google Search Console? And when you say sitemap, is it just the url that I put there?
It's in the training, but I can't remember the exact lesson off the top of my head. You can visit the URL below to sign in to GSC
https://search.google.com/search-console
The Sitemap will be provided to you in your SEO plugin, but is usually in the format of domain.com/sitemap.xml
