What are your goals for end of isolation?
My teenage daughter suffers with very bad depression and anxiety. She is unfortunately, one of those who have been unable to sit her exams this year and so is uncertain about her future. The isolation has not helped her depression and I have to coax her to speak with her friends. However, needing to find motivation for her, I needed to motivate myself.
Setting example
No matter how much I tried to coax it was like banging my head against a brick wall. So I changed my strategy. Instead of trying to motivate her, I decided to motivate myself instead.
I set goals for myself in what I want to achieve by the time the isolation is over. I then started journelling about it and set daily goals for myself each evening so that I knew what I was getting up for in the morning and worked towards achieving them every day. I will take planned breaks on certain days.
Did it help her?
It most certainly did. She started to think of what she wanted to achieve and we then set small goals for her to work towards daily. It gave her a purpose for waking up in the morning and knowing there was some sort of structure to her day.
She still does not know what career path she wants to take, but I see no harm in that. I was 28 when I decided I wanted to follow a marketing career and here I am at 46 building my website and looking to become an entrepreneur online!
My goals
I set my goals and intention that before isolation was over, I would be able to resign from my job and follow my own independent career as an entrepreneur online, losing weight and becoming fitter. Actually writing that goal has given me such as huge motivation. Each day I work towards to those goals and I go to bed at night feeling such a great sense of satisfaction and gratitude.
