My 4 Weeks of Isolation

OK, so Kyle's post https://my.wealthyaffiliate.com/kyle/blog/we-can-get-through... has influenced me to write this blog, although I did not have plans to write a blog on here today when I started out this morning.

I have been widowed for 12 years, unable to move on or look forward to a future. I have been suffering with depression for 20 years! I have always wanted to have my own business but the lathergy of depression, the disbelief in myself and lack of self esteem always held me back.

I am living now just with my youngest daughter, my oldest having moved in with her boyfriend.

Weeks 1 & 2 of Isolation

At the start of the lock down it was reading, doing nothing in particular (although I kept on saying that I was going to make headway on WA) and just enjoying not having to stress and rush out to work, getting home at late hours and then rushing to do supper, barely any time to spend with my daughter, before having to do it all over again.

By the second week, the depression was starting to hit, I laid in bed longer and longer in the mornings; berated myself for not doing more on WA, feeling ill and having no purpose. Unfortunately, this affected my daughter as well, who also suffers with depression.

Seeing my daughter like this made me determined to get back on track. So, I started out with setting up a schedule for both my daughter and myself, doing work, exercising, connecting with friends and family and having our family time.

Weeks 3 & 4 of Isolation

So this is what happened when I became determined:

• I found more clarity on where I want to go with my website and my blogs
• I have given both myself and my daughter a purpose to get up each day and move forward
• I reconnected with an old school friend, who I have not seen in 30 years and we are REALLY hitting it off (I feel like a teenager again!)
• I'm smiling, I'm actually happy! It's a feeling I have not had for a very long time.

So, although there are alot of disadvantages to this pandemic! I'm making the most of it!
