Do You Really Need To Publish Blog Posts Regularly?

Go to 99% of websites that educate on how to blog and they all basically tell you to publish at least once a week on the same day at the same time.

Part of the reasoning for this is that your loyal readers will be expecting this scheduled post and that to deviate from this will disappoint them.

But is that really true?

I’m sure you are all subscribed to various newsletters and websites. Do you feel disappointed when they publish earlier or later than usual? I’m guessing “probably not”.

As wonderful as your blog posts may be, I doubt your readers are waiting with bated breath for every entry.

Of course, being disciplined and churning out content on a regular basis is a very good thing, but if your publishing sub-standard work just to meet your blogging deadline, this can have an adverse effect.

I believe it’s infinitely better to delay publishing if it’s not your best work. The world won’t stop spinning.

Instead of being obsessive about your publishing regiment, always shoot to create the best possible content you can. Don't allow yourself to be pressured into publishing just for the sake of keeping to a schedule.

The bottom line is that quality will trump quantity every time.

The rule of the game is not the quantity but the quality!

I think it matters what type of blog you have and what niche you are in. But I do agree with you. I do not look for bloggers I follow to be that consistent as far as time.

I get an email notification when they post and that is how I think everyone gets notified of a post by a blogger they follow.

Totally agree John. High quality content will always trump rushed badly written content.
I appreciate your advice

totally agree, if it doesn't matter to how google index your page then go for higher quality...

What you say is very true, John! Thanks for sharing!
