I'm living in a seaside town in the southern coast of Korea. I grew up in the UK.
I am soon to be 34. A few years ago I put an end to my academic pursuit in the field of European history and to my vague ideas to seek employment by a university, because 1) I knew I wanted to do my own thing, and 2) I knew doing their own thing would soon be required of almost everyone anyway.
I am, like (I presume) many of you, one of the lucky people who are not daunted by that. Since then I opened a shop, taught people English and Liberal Arts, and on the side kept up translating and linguistic data analysis. But enough of that: I want to write my own stuff. E-books probably are in order, just as much as appropriate affiliate marketing. Possible niches for me include:
- Alternative media on the Korean/Northeast Asian politics and society(including translation and interpretation services for business and travel)
It sounds very wide but I am really aiming at buiding a media and if you search on the subject it's evident that the material is not all that abundant, especially critique.
- Liberal Arts(read/watch/discuss one classic a week)
Self-improvement niche with room for affiliate marketing
- Asexuality (Attempt to understand as a condition rather than define as an identity)
- Movies (less known actors)
A guide to products
I'm wondering how long it would be before I tackle all of these. I am definitely going to concentrate on one first. Hoping to contribute to WA on the way, and also hoping WA will help me on my journey!
