My first two weeks at wealthy affiliate-a progress update
2 WEEKS IN, HERE IS WHAT I HAVE LEARNED
Hello Wealthy Affiliate Community. I've reached that point in my training where I post a blog and let everyone know how my progress has been and what I have learned.
I will say first off that everyone here at Wealthy Affiliate that I have interacted with so far have been very helpful and kind. I got off to a good start in my first few days and upgraded to Premium right away. I think it will be the best $49 a month I have ever invested. The shear number of resources and knowledge here is astounding, and I have put all of that to good use thus far.
Going through the training up to this point I learned a lot about affiliate marketing in general, and with that knowledge I have taken a lot of my research and enthusiasm off platform to further my knowledge. When I first got my website up and running, I was excited to finally have a platform to share my vast knowledge in my chosen niche.
For those less knowledgeable or not noticing of my picture up top, my niche deals specifically with Model Railroading, which I have been doing for over 45 years now. Even though it is lesser-known hobby by many, there is a huge amount of Model Railroaders out there seeking to expand their knowledge and skills. It is a 3-dimensional hobby that not only takes some skill and experience to master, the creativity and life like recreations take this hobby into the realm of fascinating. Everything you see above in the picture aside from the trains themselves were created by me out of various techniques, applied knowledge of perspective, and proportion and so on. It is this ability to see these scenes in my mind and recreate them that I endeavor to share on my website, and thus hopefully create a large following.
In my short two weeks her at Wealthy Affiliate I have already reached out to a dozen or more affiliate programs related to my niche, and I am already actively promoting one of those through the EBay partners system. I have obtained rights to use a few peoples works on my site, furthering my ability to become a credible online source of information in Model Railroading. Without the knowledge I've gained to this point here at Wealthy Affiliate I would have had no idea or clue where to even start.
Now I have my website format to my liking, after trying a dozen themes or so, testing them for compatibility with various plug-ins and such, and will be working on posting more content as I go through the training. The foundation blocks have been laid, the knowledge is there for my use, and I look forward to the next steps towards being a successful affiliate marketer.
To those just starting out and perhaps struggling, I offer a bit advice: Never be afraid to chase your dreams, it is only fear of failure that holds you back. And if you never try to realize those dreams, you will never appreciate your true potential and bring your dreams to fruition. We are all given a unique talent, you have only to discover it within yourself.
James.

That is fantastic progress James!
Just imagine what you can achieve in two months or years from now my friend!!
Thanks Jeffrey, time will tell. Initially I thought there wasn't a huge gain to be had, but the more I think about future content writing, the more opportunities I see available.
James.
It is really encouraging to read about your progress. Your enthusiasm for what you are learning and doing is very inspirational.

Thank you, Jim. I've always been the self-learner type in life. For me hands-on is what works best. I've been scouring all over the WordPress dashboard and post/page menu and side bars and find hidden jam's almost daily. It's kind of like working on an Xcel spreadsheet or Outlook front page, you sometimes have to dig deep. I appreciate the comment.

WOW, I'm impressed, well done. And thank you for the inspiring and encouraging post. You seem like a rocket ! 🚀 wait for meee ! ! ! 🤣🤣
Thansk Mike, it's just my nature to always mess around with things until I find out what works. Guess that's why I became a Model Railroader too!
James.
Hi James, that's awesome. It sounds like model railroading is—your passion. I am happy you have made it through the past few weeks here, and thanks for the update. I am pleased to see this kind of post. Your advice about "don't be afraid to chase your dream." is the absolute truth. My advice is DON'T QUIT when you hit a rough patch. We will, at one time at another will, face hurdles on our online journey. A lot of newbies talk the talk but don't walk the walk. You aren't one of them, but please never quit. Too many of them give up too quickly. You are in this business for the long haul -you hear me?
Definitely Brenda, I have a lot of inspiration and drive from the many successful community members here to keep me going. It may take longer than a more lucrative niche, but one thing is for sure, I will never run out of content to write about. Just since I posted this blog I've already been looking into ways to streamline my posting process. Once I get the WordPress program down I can cruise on auto-pilot creating contents and articles for my website. Thank you for the encouraging words.
Regards, James.

Thanks Jessie, definitely looking forward to the future, but also understand that it will take a bit of time. Fortunately I'm a patient person and don't get frustrated with lack of quick results.
