My Current Business Models
As you might have read here, I have several business models that I am so passionate about. With Wealthy Affiliate, I can host websites and create content. I can then monetize that content in myriads of ways. I love to share these business models with you to motivate and inspire you. I also do this for myself as the going can be tough, sometimes.
My Business Models
- Wealthy Affiliate (WA). This means affiliate marketing. I can either focus on the promotion of the WA Affiliate Program or diversify. There are many other affiliate programs and products accessible from my Hubs section. I can then promote these on my website, email, or social media. There are many courses here on how to do affiliate marketing.
- Google Ads (GA). Website contents can be monetized in many ways including but not limited to running/allowing Google ads. I can also run Google ads on my YouTube channel(s) to get paid whenever people view ads within my videos. When you visit my website and interact with ads, I get paid by Google for that. They are renting my space to display their ads. I am a publisher in that sense.
- Amazon Books (AB). Because I have written and independently published 100 titles so far on Amazon, when people visit my WA-made website(s), they might buy a book. When that happens, I credit WA for this because I used their system to host and create website content. This is my third business model.
- Language Services (LS). Apart from teaching languages, technology, and life/career coaching, I also offer other services. One of these services that has proven to work well almost all the time is language services. This is where I offer translations, interpretations, editing and proofreading services for English, Sudanese Arabic, Dinka, and Nuer languages. This is my current source of income, fueling/funding my WA membership.
At the end of the day, I would like to focus on creating and monetizing content. This means I won't be able to continue with language services and other services unless and until they prove to be so crucial to me and my business.
Traffic is key. With enough traffic, I can then focus on content creation. I can then make money from it by publishing it in form of articles on my websites as well as in books on Amazon. Content produces books sales as well as referrals from my websites. Content generates revenue in form of ads on my websites and on my YouTube channels.
Benefits
There are many benefits when it comes to having a business model. Diversification is key. You can see above that instead of doing one thing, I have several hooks in the pond. For now, some of these hooks have not yet caught a thing. But with time, they will.
For example, none of my referrals have upgraded to Premium at the time I wrote this. However, I was sure that if I just keep the business going, there will come a time someone will join or upgrade. This is where magic happens. This is when I get paid of commissions.
What if people buy other products and services? When people sign up for VideoGen, MailerLite and Alison courses and they pay, I also get a commission. This means I have several affiliate programs under my belt.
Your Turn
What are you working on right now? Are you a writer? Would you like to become an author but no idea how? I would love to hear from you because the reason why I share these models is to motivate and inspire you. I also do so to keep myself focused on the things that matter a lot.
Updating you here about what I am working on also motivates and inspires me to keep working. I am still updating the book contents on Amazon, and I am sure it will take me up to the beginning of April 2025. It's a lot of work but it's important. My books are dynamic. I love to always improve them:- covers, content, keywords, blurbs and descriptions.
Again, let me know what you are working on today!

I have developed a mindset that whatever I do each day doesn't feel like work anymore but life. Mindset is key here.

Love that John! When we feel what we do is pleasurable... it makes everything all that easier!!
But remember to take breaks and enjoy life as well my friend! :-)
True. Thanks for the reminder. I do rest until I am ready to work again. While I have no rest schedule to follow, my body has its own way to tell me it needs to rest.
John
Our bodies are wonderful when telling us that my friend! Enjoy a wonderfully restful Sunday!! :-)
Hi John!
You are pure dynamite! Wow.
I am working on GPT's that focus on specific topics . Testing them ...
And considering MMO... and its tactics.
Thanks for the fireworks...
Always great reading you

😀
Hey, I'm glad you got inspired after reading, Fleeky. Let's keep giving and receiving from each other. Glad to hear about your business models.

Ah, not sure if I have or even understand a 'hurdle' as you might mean something entirely different to me in this context. If it's means struggle, it's clear to me that what I do is simply second nature. Thus, no hurdles at all.

That's very interesting, John. Once you have published books on KDP Amazon, can you actually take them down again and edit them and update them?
Publishing my first book on KDP Amazon is next on my list. I am working on the book in parallel to writing content on my website and going through the SEO and traffic training. (As well as teaching three private pupils every week,)
I haven't started promoting Wealthy Affiliate yet. I would really like to have made money myself so I can have personal experience exactly how it worked for me.
Wishing you lots of success.

Yes, you can always update/edit your books after publishing, the power of self-publishing. You don't need to take them down as such, but you can update the files and upload them. For me, any book I submit, new or old, gets approved in minutes or hours. I have been in the system for 13 years this month. I also help others publish their books either for free or for a fee.
KDP has a tone of videos on their KDP University's YouTube channel. I have also written extensively on my author website about the processes involved, but I don't want to sound self-promotional here.
I recommend you check KDP videos out for more information because there some mistakes when made, you can't fix them later. For example, if you have chosen a wrong book size (based on genre), misspelled your book title/subtitle, you can't edit those (for print books) after it's published.
I publish all my books in Kindle, Hardcover, and Paperback versions to reach a wider audience. Because of the updates, I guess, this month of March 2025 seems to be going well, with sales almost on a daily basis.
John
Thank you very much for your explanation and advice. 'Sales almost on a daily basis' sounds excellent. Congratulations. You deserve it for your hard work.

Hi John. I come from a services background too. Copywriting and content strategy in the B2B space. It's tough balancing the highs with the lows. I'm working on blogging to monetize with display ads and affiliate programs. I'm just starting on phase 4 so today I was looking for affiliate programs to join. One I use is a music channel on YouTube for the dogs. It has ads and the creator has a subscription service off the platform for the ad-free experience. Today, I found the entire catalogue of tracks being sold as a bundle. So rather than be limited to sending readers to YouTube with ads or the creators site for ad-free, I can also link to the page with the audio files that have a one-time payment and get a good commission if they prefer the audio over video with or without ads. Win-win.
Hey, Robert, thanks for sharing what you're doing. It's so encouraging that you can get some commissions from YouTube and the audio files. This is diversification in action.
