Purchased domains thru WA now want to develop and host elsewhere. How?
I have full instructions on my website but I can't give you the link here as it would violate WA's policies. Search Google for "move website from wealthy affiliate" (without the quotes) and you'll find the article with my name on it near the top of the results page.
Thank you. Actually I was not totally clear. I have bought two domains through WA. But want to create a website elsewhere or point them to another site. I believe I can do this as a premium member. If I cancelled would I still be able to do it?
Yes, if you cancel your WA account you'll still have access to the Site Domains section to renew your domain name registrations, buy new ones, change the nameservers, etc. If you try to access any other part of the WA site you'll be asked to resubscribe. Cancel Wealthy Affiliate Membership and Stop Billing
You should back up your website first before you change your DNS and move your website to another host.
The place you are moving it to will tell you what to do, as it will be different for each company.

How do I point wa purchased domains to an externally hosted?

Please provide who your new host is, so I can give exact information about how to do it. Domain transfer and move your site to a new host are different things. I’d understand that you want the latter.

I bought the domains from WA but don’t want to use their site creation and hosting services. Can I still direct the domains if I cancel premium. Thanks
You need to move your sites to another host and transfer your domain names to another registrar before canceling Premium (while you still have access to WA) as only premium members can host their sites here. In addition to that, you will not be able to downgrade to the Starter membership.

I want to sell courses on my site. I'm new to WA. Does it support the taking of payment etc on the platform?
You must let people know about your business. Not only you should have a website but also you must put your contact information on a page together with the list of your services. You need to include a lot of other information that your potential customers will find useful, and that will make them want to buy. You should put images of your products, if applicable. Generate marketing strategies through your content, social media, and email list, etc.
If you want to sell courses, then I'm presuming that it is a membership style website that you want, rather than an e-commerce store. In which case, you might want to consider MemberPress or LearnDash. You can find more details here

Thanks Christopher. I guess can have features of both affiliate marketing and course/ learning management plugins
Yep you can install woo commerce plugin and set it up, that will add ecom resources to your website
You can set up Paypal plus other payment gateways
Websites can be purchased and hosted here, that's included with your Premium membership
