Hey Jim,
1. Is your site been indexed by Google - check it out from SiteRubix
2. Is your other posts appeared on google when you googled them?
3. If Q1 & Q2 the answer is yes, then you might have to fetch with google again. Remember to submit Sitemap as well.
4. Sometimes Google takes longer period to index a page.
I am indexed on google, but I really don't see any articles show up. Google indexed me without me doing anything: just received and indication in my email a couple weeks ago.
Yes, every time you publish a new post, you need to submit your post to Google Webmaster for fetch. This to tell Google that you have a new post published and asking them to crawl and index. Sometimes, it takes few minutes to few days to get your post indexed/ranked.
Another thing to observe, one you published the post, share it to Google + then you can get your post index faster because they playing at the same field.
As for submission of sitemap, you can do it every time you published a post or once in a week if you publish infrequently.
Hope this helps you:)
You can check your post whether it ihas been indexed/ranking or not by keying in your keyword Phase in the Incognito tab (chrome)
Strange. Even when Google indicating via email that I had been indexed and SiteRubix reflecting this as well, I assumed I was. But it is clearly not the case. Currently even having issues verifying my website with Google. Will work out with support. Thanks

Did you submit your posts to google for fetch and as well the sitemap.
No I haven't done that. Do I need to submit to Google every time I write a new post?
