How to Be The Best Among The Best
We are involved with one of the most competitive businesses I can think of, Affiliate Marketing, along with Network Marketing. Both industries are different and provide you with an above-average potential of earnings.
"Work hard at your job, and you can make a living. Work hard on yourself, and you can make a fortune."?--?Jim Rohn
With most of us, we all focus on our job or craft, which is terrific. If you want to become the best, you will need to invest in yourself.
You should only devote 20 percent of your energy to your job. The remaining 80% of your energy should be devoted to rest and self-improvement. How you will refuel your work, and it becomes better than anyone else's work.
Everyone else is concentrating on improving their job; you increase your skills and expand your vision with a much more focused approach. It is keeping you ahead of your competition that provides you with outstanding results.
"Give me six hours to chop down a tree, and I will spend the first four sharpening the axe."? Abraham Lincoln
One of the things that I learned and it helped me was the last thing I thought about was becoming successful; it was just part of my upbringing. In my mind, I was already there at a very young age, learned and understood the power of affirmations.
I loved going to the legion and listening to all the veterans who served our country and provided me with words of wisdom as they took my money playing cribbage. You see, there is a price for education.
As Jim Morrison of "The Doors" once said, sweet memories will never die.
"From this point, your strategy is to make everyone else get on your level; you're not going down to theirs. You're not competing with anyone else, ever again. They're going to have to compete with you."?--?Tim Grover

Hey Joseph, when I was small, used to sit in gramps lap and watch him play cribbage with Uncle Charlie, think I still have a cribbage board somewhere. Good memories. Good post.
Hi Roger,
Cribbage is a great game; it takes very little time to set it up and play. Many still do not know how to play it; my partner just learned a few weeks ago. She has the game concept just a little slow with counting her points, so we do not play pegging, which would not be fair.
Thanks for sharing some great memories with your uncle Charlie. Is he still alive, Roger?
Joseph, I really resonate with the fact that you already knew the pathway that you were going to take.
Likewise, I did very early in life. It helps when your self- belief kicks in and pave the way for your future.
I am a big fan of self- improvement. I fully support the belief that you need to know who you are before venturing into anything.
Also, the more you improve yourself, the better your attitude, approach and progress will be
Hi Simone,
I was always a dreamer, why I studied Architectural in school and worked for a few years, but decided back in 1982 that computers one day would be the future, so I went back to college and studied Computer Science. I never worked in that field, full time, for several reasons.
Decide sales was what I wanted to do; I spent 30 years in that field of marketing and sales. I read all the books on this topic, including my all-time favoured, Dale Carnegie's How to Win Friends and Influence People.
Still have the original book under my bed; look at it once in a while, open it up and just read that chapter. But we never forget our upbrings, why I still enjoy going back to where I grew up and saw all the changes that have happened over the years.
Thanks for your feedback, much appreciated as always.
I have always been a dreamer as well but it was always in the field of helping- teaching, nursing that sort of thing
While growing up in Jamaica, I was told that it was impossible to be both.
I don't like to anyone to limit me, I like to make my own decisions.
So when I came to England and I found that I could do both and more. I just went for it
Totally seconded- improving and sharing the fruits thereof with loved ones starting with family that love us is one of the greatest things there is in life. I always put that at the back of mind in whatever I do.
You got that right for me. I define family this way.
F - Father
A - and
M - Mother
I - I
L - Love
Y - You
How much family means to me.
All of those quotes you've used hit the right spot. I liked how you referred to knowing that you were already a success so you never worried about that part. That's deep and that's the power of affirmations. I connect with you there.
As for knowledge and growth I'm right there with you as well. If you don't continue to grow mentally you'll just be limiting your dreams and your potential. It's all about expanding your horizons and never setting limits.
I enjoyed this. Thanks for sharing.
Hi Roberta,
Thank you for the feedback; it works for anyone who gives it an honest effort. No different than working out; the only difference you're giving your mind a workout.

Joseph, I totally agree, though my approach is a bit different!
I have had a successful locksmith business since late 1991, and it all started because I was a used car dealer and needed keys made for a couple of my cars. The guy that made them suggested that I should become a locksmith!
I always wanted to be in business, but I never knew what that might be, but I took a leap of faith and did it!
It was a lot of hard work and perseverance, and I made very good money for many of those years, and have had downturns in others, but I also diversified and spread my money around so I am still able to make it in the worst of times.
My mantra is this: LOOK the Part, ACT the Part, then BE the Part-NaNaNaNaNaNa Jeff
You know, buddy, nothing in life comes easy, well, not always. But every once in a while, you hit an inside-the-park home run.
Life has a word in the middle called IF no one once to become an if in life.
You worked hard for what you have, and so did I. We both know one thing how hard it is to be a used car dealer, did IT for like 30 plus years. Hell, I made a lot of money shipping vehicles to the USA, Japan and many countries in Europe.
The game was called Hedging Funds; the US dollar was the currency of choice, locked in at a reasonable rate. You made money with the rate and with the sale of the vehicle. Jeff, you have no idea how many sleepless nights we had doing this.
But in 2004, we lost just over a million dollars, and that was not a good thing at all.
The way I looked at it, I had my health, family and all that mattered. Money comes and goes, stayed away from the alcohol and created a game plan to work me out of this not-so-nice quicksand.
Why I got involved with MLM, I need to earn as much as I could in a brief period. I worked it, made like 90 to 100 cold calls every day for like three-plus months, no days off.
LinkedIn was my secret weapon. Bingo made it happen; within eight or nine months, I was back up into that six-figure income.
This time I never stop doing it for like fifteen years, until three years ago, I said I am done.
Here I am. Just taking one day at a time and waiting to leave and head back to Europe, this Covid messed many lives up.
Stay strong and stay safe, my friend. Life is too short. All I GOT TO SAY.
You said it very well, Joseph!
I never made as much as you, but the feeling of being self employed is euphoric, and I wouldn't trade it for anything in the world!
I keep moving forward with my future goals and I am quite happy making enough money to satisfy my obligations with enough left to invest a meager sum, with enough left over to help others!
That will make me a very rich man, IMHO!
Jeff
