Facebook Got Me!

WOW!

What just happened??!!

Facebook Got Me!

That’s what happened.

This post definitely proves what I overall stated about in my last post.

Simply by sharing an innocuous post on my Business Page. It was immediately blocked.

Yet I made sure the post I shared had zero affiliate links or any URL showing.

Was this post even remotely “spammy”. Not even close!

This post was clearly "...value over spam!"

Facebook’s 2 Face Game

As Kyle replied in my last post, “….Facebook is playing a two face game. They want to maximize ad revenue, but in order to do this, they need authentic contribution within their platform.”

Kyle, Why Are We still Focusing On Facebook?

Kyle was right. But guess what?

Only partially.

Because this post was definitely an authentic contribution.

Yet it still got blocked.

Facebook is definitely playing a “2 face game” but they are now going WAY too far.

Pay for Our Ads, We Won’t Block You

As I said in my last post, Facebook currently does not care about the entrepreneur unless you are buying their ads.

Here was a post I shared directly on my Business Page. I was only following the instructions for the SAC Challenge assignment to the letter. Hoping to get some organic engagement.

Also as you can see, I was also very careful when I shared it not to show the URL of the post.

As I said earlier, this post share was not even remotely “spammy”. It had zero affiliate links showing and did not even display the URL - and Facebook STILL blocked it.

Note also I have posted other blog posts including my Wealthy Affiliate Review in the same way, and they weren’t blocked. Why this one?

Oh, make no mistake: this is what I call "The Great Squeeze Play" by the Facebook Borg.

Their actions are telling us, "You BETTER buy our ADS or we will flag and block your perfectly valuable and helpful shared content on your Business Pages. And we won't allow you to TALK to each other in Groups, unless you are Friends." (....in a Sinister Mechanical Voice)

__________________________________________________________________

This strongly supports what I very clearly wrote in my last article, and is irrefutable proof of what Mark Zuckerberg CEO of Facebook has publicly stated was Facebook’s initiative in 2019:

Without a doubt, that Facebook has now gone back to prioritizing personal interactions and placing LESS emphasis on Business Pages is absolutely true.

This also proves that Facebook only wants your ad revenue. And doesn’t want you to gain organic engagement on your Business Pages. Unless you PAY them.

It's only "Pay-to-Play" on Facebook , Ladies and Gents!

Once again, as Kyle correctly stated, “Facebook is playing a 2 face game.”

As I stated yesterday, I am only sharing my blog posts on Facebook to “check off the boxes” for the SAC Challenge.

Box Checked.

Assignment now complete.

However, now that I’ve actually experienced first-hand how Facebook currently operates - unless through some miracle Facebook later proves me wrong - this will only motivate me even more to continue seeking engagement by sharing my posts on LinkedIn and other social media.

Cheers,

Kaju

It comes down to the almighty dollar. They want you to pay for ads, not have any semblance of free publicity. But, Kaju, like you said, there are other options. Thanks for updating us on this.

Absolutely Pop, as said here it's the "Great Squeeze Play" by Facebook.

Either Buy our Ads OR we will block your perfectly valuable and helpful content whether its Spam or Not.

For entrepreneurs who only want to share content on a Business Page, in the current environment with Facebook its only "Pay-to-Play"!

Go with my other options!
Kaju

Kaju, I'm so sorry you are having such a challenging time with FB. You and so many out there... This just goes to show that they mean what they say - personal interactions are the way to go now. I thinks business pages (unless you are paying for ads) are not as important now. It's personal profile contacts going towards building FB groups that will get you better organic reach.
Alenka

Alenka, this is exactly what I and others like yourself have been saying. We see it. Facebook is flagging as "spam" perfectly valuable content shared on Business Pages to "squeeze" you into buying their ads!

But THAT means I can't use Facebook, because I don't want to "Friend" people on my Personal Profile. I'm done with that. So therefore, there is NO organic possibility for me on FB.

So as I wrote about, this is why I've started sharing posts on LinkedIn and other social media.

Yes, you are absolutely right. And also, not every platform is a good fit for every person. :) See you on LinkedIn soon!

I'm already THERE Alenka, that is my fit! See you soon:)

Kaju, you will see the 2 screenshots of what FB has done to me. Simply sharing my Business link to my Personal pages and the Affiliate Groups I go to on FB.

This first happened about 3 weeks ago. And FB totally disregards Any appeal.

Sonny

Very sorry to hear this Sonny, but it doesn't surprise me. Facebook is too "big for their britches", Start using other social media!

Thanks again Sonny:)! Here's a great Tokyo story for you on my new YT channel:) Send me your YT link and I will Subscribe. You can Subscribe to my channel here:)

I shared a post on my Facebook page the other day and nothing happened. Maybe it's just a matter of time before they shut it down.

I also shared other posts on my Facebook Business page and nothing happened, Stunning.

But this one was marked as "spam" even though as you can see it by the screenshot it has zero affiliate links, and no URL showing, which I did intentionally to avoid (just like the other posts that didn't get flagged)

If you like, read my prior post. Many people share my opinion here, and now this take down is further proof.

Thanks for sharing. I've not been using Facebook and now I may not.

Great move D, and here's why.

Thanks!

My pleasure D:)

It will be interesting to see how this whole thing progresses. Definitely going to focus more on other social media platforms.

Thanks for the update,

Michael

Definitely start focusing on other platforms Tim, like LinkedIn. I wrote a post about that recently. FB won't answer you if this happens and you try to appeal.

Yeah, I imagine they're too busy to do that. Your post was probably flagged by their updated bots, so I imagine there are 1,000's of posts getting the same treatment.

Michael

I believe you are right Tim. That makes perfect sense:)

So I wonder if I post a link to WA on my Facebook personal page (as I have done for the last several years around the Black Friday sale) if that will be blocked? I wonder if they apply different rules to business pages vs. personal pages?

Any ideas?

H Jessica,
That would be like "rolling the dice". Don't be surprised with the current Facebook environment of 2019 it gets blocked.

Note I shard other similar posts, and they didn't get blocked - but then I share this post of value and they flagged it as "spam".

Noe that I went out of my way NOT to show ANY links, also no affliliate links, AND did not even show the URL!

All I write in the caption is a Call-To-Action to "Click on the Photo"
This is nuts.

Yes, they are apparently now applying different rules to Business Pages than to personal profiles, as their initiative in 2019 is on Personal Interaction, NOT to help entrepreneurs to gain organi traffic on a Business Page.

Hence as I've said ad nauseum, Facebook only wants your Money, by Paying for their ADS, and they will leverage their goal by flagging PERFECTLY LEGITIMATE posts, so that you are forced into PAY to PLAY. This is that "2 aced Game" that Ky;e referred to in his comment response on my other post.

Read about it in more detail from that other last last post if you like: That's why I've already gone to other social media like LinkedIn to share my posts. I wrote about that too.

I already read your last post. I was just wondering if you had any experience or predictions with the personal vs. business aspect.

It sounds like it is just a matter of time before they will come down on all of it. I guess I can try one and see what happens but I won't be holding my breath!

No huge loss for me since I don't use Facebook for hardly anything work related anyway!

If you want to interact ONLY personally on your personal Profile Jessica, then go for it. Let us know how that pans out for you.

As for me, this all means I can't use Facebook, because I don't want to "Friend" people on my Personal Profile. I'm done with that. So therefore, there is NO organic possibility for me on FB.

I would have to dig deep in my already nearly empty pockets to pay a daily expenditure for FB ads. That's why I've already started sharing my posts on LinkedIn and other social media.

I don't know what Facebook is up to as much as you do, Kaju, but i had heard elsewhere that the platform is trying to de-prioritize business interactions and hence it seems forcing the ads to be paid for and identified as such?

They may see this as a survival necessity as Kyle indicated in his reply to your original post about this matter.

Thank you again for keeping us informed. Marc

As I said ad nauseum in my last article, they are focusing more on personal interactions Marc - that means in 2019 you will not get engagement on your Business page unless you are willing to PAY (or were doing ads previously).

Although I understand the "survival necessity" aspect so the entire platform doesn't look like one continuous ad, block the real "spammers" not the ones who are posting valuable content like me!

This further proves that what I wrote (and what Kyle stated) in my last post is right.

Thank you for the update... It definitely seems true that Facebook are I intending to only allow paid promotion of business content.
I think this as you say will lead to many using other platforms to promote themselves where free engagement is available....
Regards

Gaz

No doubt Gaz, Thank You for your thoughtful comment.
You definitely need to read my previous post!

I did read it the other day... I commented on that one too.
Let's see what happens and adjust accordingly.
Gaz

Sounds like a plan, Thanks!

I went to that prior post, but don't see your comment. Hope we are talking about the same one?

Sure I did... I remember reading it. But I will check....
Cheers
Gaz

Thanks:)

Just been and liked and left my comment...
Have a great weekend.
Gaz

Thanks Gaz, wishing you a Great Weekend as well:)

Kaju

Thanks, Kaju, for the update and confirmation of Kyle observation.
Well, let's hope for the best. You do great by continue seeking engagement in other social media platform. Cheers. :-)

That wasn't just Kyle's observation, it was mine.

Please accept my sincere apology, Kaju.
My mistakes.

Not a problem K:)!

Thanks so much again Kichang:) Check out our great Tokyo story as well as the Efren match video play by play:)
