Do Not Fear Promoting Your You Tube Channel

So you have a fairly new You Tube channel and you are producing some good content. Perhaps you are even producing and publishing some great engaging content on You Tube.

Yet there are skeptical yet well-meaning others out there that are saying, "Don't do this, or you can't do that" or "Do this, but be careful you shouldn't so that."

Here's what I say.....Nonsense!

Do not fear promoting your You Tube channel. Use all forms of social media, organic search, SEO, word of mouth advertising, and even paid advertising to attract your largest audience possible.

Always work towards growing your channel, if this is something you are truly passionate about. Be proactive in promoting your channel without spamming.

You Tube supports this behavior. They give you a wide berth, and there's a reason why. They want greater numbers of amazing content creators to generate the maximum ad revenue using their platform.

Makes sense,right?

I’ve also read many articles from the true You Tube experts out there ( those who are actually generating millions of views and at least hundreds of 1000’s of subscribers) that this is not only totally legit, but that You Tube encourages this.

There's a Reason You Tube Raised th Bar

About a year or so ago, You Tube drastically raised the bar for content creators to meet the minimum requirement to monetize their channel (by allowing ads to be placed on your videos to generate ad revenue).

The minimum requirement is now BOTH 1000 subscribers AND 4000 watch HOURS ( that’s 240,000 minutes!) in one year.

Meet BOTH requirements AND have a Google Adsense account approved for and already setup (believe it or not, many people wait until they reach their minimum rewuirement to do this..BIG MISTAKE. do it ASAP), and you are able to monetize on You Tube.

Thats why YT has raised the minimum bar of monetization for a channel in order to spawn more great content creators and to nurture the right environment for tons of hours of better and more engaging content

The more great content that you can publish on the You Tube platform, the more views you will get on your channel. Greater number of views lead to more watch hours that you will accumulate.

Watch hours are perhaps the most important metric for better You Tube rankings, even more important than views and likes.

And greater watch hours of your great compelling and highly entertaining content will lead to more loyal subscribers. You Tube wants you to gain the most loyal subscribers possible.

The more loyal subscribers you can accumulate over time on You Tube, the more likely your content will be Shared en masse, leading to an exponential increase in watch hours that will ultimately drive higher ad revenue for You Tube.

If you have a passion for You Tube and video content creation (like me), all of this can lead to a great potential passive income for YOU down the road. (Oh and I haven’t even mentioned how you can make money off of branding deals yet if you grow your channel to a high level....will save that for a future blog).

Wow, I said a lot in that one sentence.

Real simple, still makes sense right?

Thus the more you consistently publish good engaging content on You Tube, and the more you promote that content (without spamming), You Tube will reward you with greater search rankings, thus leading to increased reach.

Start You Tubing!

Yes it can be done, and it IS being done everywhere around the world by content creators EVERYDAY.

Start doing it, and start creating great content TODAY. It doesn’t matter if you are an introvert, extrovert, or someone in-between.

There are all types of content creation types which can suit a wide variety of personality types that are available for you to dive head first into.

Are you camera shy and don’t want to show your face? No problems! Start learning how to create helpful “how to videos” using Screen-casts where only your voice will be heard.

This type of You Tube content seems to be the favorite choice of affiliate marketers, and this content type is perfectly suited to bring in new traffic and customers.

Are you an extrovert who enjoys being in front of the camera (like yours truly)? Then get IN- FRONT of the camera, and SCREAM out your message Loud and Clear for the world to hear!

Be entertaining! You have lots of important and valuable information to share that WILL MAKE YOUR VIEWERS DAY that your viewers are DYING to see and hear!

Either way, You Tube wants you to effectively promote your channel and videos so you can eventually start generating ad revenue, so DON'T BE SHY.

In only my first month, I’ve already nearly reached 200 subscribers.I am totally optimisitc my channel will keep growing. The sky's the Limit!

It’s all about creating great content and spreading the word.
