Please DON'T do these things in the SITECOMMENTS Platform!

I want to share with you a couple of things that commenters in the sitecomments platform should NOT be doing. If you are doing this, please take a second to stop and think how your comments are going to affect the website that you are commenting on. If this is a comment you wouldnt be happy with on your website, dont leave it on another persons website.

Leave FEEDBACK on the content

Sitecomments if for helping people get their website ranked in GOOGLE, YAHOO, and BING.

When it comes to the sitecomments platform, remember that your comments are NOT private and the ENTIRE INTERNET will be reading them. Examples of this include:

"I like how your website is designed"

"I like how your sidebar has an affiliate banner"

While feedback is appreciated for better user experience, please leave these in the site feedback platform or find a way to message the owner of the website. On top of that, it doesnt feel good in my opinion to have someones website flaws magnified in front of the entire internet.

Put the article of the title within your comment

Not only is putting the title of the article in your comment filler which is NOT necessary, in my opinion, it doesn't come of natural when organic visitors (non-WA commenters) are reading the comment section.

On top of that, their is a good chance that the title contains a set of keywords that the writer is TRYING TO RANK for. If they already SEO optimized their content, you will only be hurting them because you risk getting them in trouble for KEYWORD STUFFING. If the writter gets penalized by GOOGLE for that, they LOSE RANKINGS and they LOSE OUT ON MONEY!

(REMEMBER THAT KEYWORDS WITHIN YOUR COMMENTS ON ANOTHER PERSONS WEBSITE GET RANKED.)

How would you feel if you lost out on your rankings because Google caught you for Keyword stuffing? Not to great, would it.

So if my article was titled for the keywords "How to get started in affiliate marketing for beginners", I dont need a comment that says the following:

  • "Thank you for your article on 'How to get started in affiliate marketing for beginners'".

Imagine 50 requested comments with commenters putting the keyword title of the post in their comments. Im pretty sure google will flag it as keyword stuffing.

Rehash the content that was written in the article already

Any comments written within the sitecomments platform is an extention of the written article. In other words, if you written a 2000 word post on a website and you get a 50 word comment, the article is in essence a 2050 word post. The content is being ranked on backlinks. It is being ranked on post length.

So when the commenter rehashes or restates what is already in the article within their comment, it doesn't help the user one bit. On top of that, there may be a risk of them losing rankings because of "duplicate content". Lastly, it just does not provide any value to the end user or organic visitor one bit.

Any time I see my content get rehashed within my comment section, I feel really frustrated because it feels like I might as well NOT have written any of the content at all if it was going to be stated in the comment section. So please dont do it.

Do you experinece any of these frustrations?

Any other frustrations that you see with commenters on site comments? Do you find any of these things mentioned above to be frustrating?

Thanks for these reminders Jessie.

Good tips...there is so much than meets the eye where SiteComments are concerned.

Yes, here is the way to contact the writer, so you can ask them to change their feedback into a worthy comment

how that is so cool thank you so much

You're welcome :)

Oh I have to agree I feel any comment made either strengthens or weekend the persons idea of that they are doing, yes site feedback are really the place for that constructive comments and yes some of them really does hurt your feelings, I'm not saying its not OK to be honest but to be brutally honest isn't the way to go, we are here to build each other up not tear them down, Right? And yes content needs to be read thoroughly before leaving a comment that is just how I feel about it.

I learned from this. Thank you
