How Do You Measure Success?
I was feeling a little low in spirits today. Not for any particular reason, other than I have been unable to spend much time on building my business over the past couple of weeks.
Oh yes, I've written one or two blog posts - not enough! This is largely due to my other responsibilities as President of Charlotte Players Community Theater taking up a considerable amount of my time.
This led me to asking myself about success. What does it mean for me? Is it about earning lots of money with my online business? Or are there other things that make me successful?
Then, the words of Ralph Waldo Emerson found their way back into my thoughts:
To laugh often and much; to win the respect
of intelligent people and affection of children;
to earn the appreciation of honest critics
and endure the betrayal of false friends;
to appreciate beauty, to find the best in
others; to leave the world a bit better,
whether by a healthy child, a garden patch or
a redeemed social condition; to know
even one life has breathed easier because
you have lived
This is to have succeeded.
I am, thus reminded that success is not about money at all. It is about how we live our lives, how we interact with others, how we make a difference.
I feel much better now, knowing that I am a successful person already. Any wealth I acquire from my business will be a bonus.
How Do You Measure Success?
Best wishes,
Jenni

If I have LEARNED anything new in a day and implemented it in some ways. Then the day is successful.
You rightly said, success is about how we live our life, how we interact with others, how we make a difference.
Thanks for sharing your thoughts Jenni.
Wish you all successful moments ahead.
Cheers:)

Akshay, that is a great way of measuring success - I, too, always try to learn something new every day. I don't always succeed, but I keep at it!
Jenni.
And one of those goals is to keep sending me to the corner of the room. lol.
Sorry Teacher, back in the corner again. Head down and shuffling to the corner....

How much I can give away and enlighten myself is my measure of success.
Nice post

Indeed, Stephen, we get so much from helping others.
