You can't make money just building your website.

Building a website and adding a few affiliates links is not enough.

I have read and answered a lot of questions from new members in the community. I'm seeing a trend of people thinking, that as soon as they build their website and add a few affiliate banners that the money should start pouring in! I wished it were that easy. It takes several factors working together before you can make any money.

Build a store in the middle of a deserted island and see how many visitors you get?

When we build our new websites here at Wealthy Affiliate, for awhile it's the same as having a site on a deserted island, might get an occasional, accidental visitor but that's about it for a little while. If your trying to get traffic from your articles, you have to have good, low completion keywords with a fair amount of monthly searches for that keyword.

Good keywords + Good Quality content + Social Media sharing + page one on google (preferably page 1 position 1) = Traffic.

If you can't make page one of google, your not going to see much organic traffic. Picking the write keyword and writing a good quality article for that keyword, is our best chance to generate natural traffic.

It takes a lot of effort, patience and creativity to launch a new website and be successful with it.

We can't just build a website and post a few articles and expect miracles to happen. We all learn at different paces. Once we have completed all the lessons that Wealthy Affiliate has to offer, start over and take them again and again. Take them until you have a clear understanding of how affiliate marketing works. Your limited with only a starter membership on what you can learn. I highly recommend upgrading to premium as soon as possible. If your not in it for the long haul, your probably not going to put in the extra effort it takes to become successful. "time and hard work pays off".

It's very important to read the lessons in your training before going 100 miles an hour on your website.

The lessons Wealthy Affiliate provides are very crucial to your success. If you were going to build a racecar from the chassis up, you would want to follow the blueprint. The training provided here is your blueprint for affiliate marketing. Read the lessons before you ask questions. The things you read about that you don't understand, that is when you ask questions. Asking questions instead of reading the materials first wont work. You have to put the effort into studying, or you will be missing important pieces to the puzzle!

I wasn't intending on writing a book, but I felt a need to share my thoughts on a few things. I didn't go into detail on any one topic, because that is what the training lessons are for. I hope I made a clearer picture for anyone who has been struggling in the beginning of their journey here at Wealthy Affiliate. I don't claim to know a lot, but I will help anyone that needs my help.
