I Took The My First Step Today
Hello Again,
It is always nice to talk to all of you through my blog on WA, Did you have a productive Sunday? I am going to share what I accomplished today, only because this was a very huge step for me that I have been fearing for a very long time.
Wrote & Published New Blog
Since coming back from summer break, I have been publishing at least one new article per day on my website. I also publish one on one of my other platforms that are brining traffic to my website, so being this is important to me, it is the first thing that I do each day.
Most of the time I use my WA credits to use AI to help me write my articles, but I am plum out of credits, so I wrote this one from scratch on my own using ChatGPT. This did take me most of the morning to do, but I spent quite a bit of time researching and edting before publishing.
My First Step Was Taken Today
I finally took my first step forward with email marketing, so I decided to signup with MailerLite. All the services sounds tempting to signup with, and this was one of the reasons I was overwhelmed about taking that first step.
What I accomplished today on MailerLite was signing up, designing my very first signup form. The free trial allows you to use paid features for the first 14 days, so I used a template to make this task easier for me. Never designng a signup form before, this make it much less stressful.
I have a javascript code that needs inserted in my website header, since I am not comfortable doing this, I asked support to do this for me. Anyone who needs code inserted on their website should consider using support, if you do it wrong you can crash your website I have been told.
Soon as support gets my signup form code on my website, I am ready to get subscribers. I did use ChatGPT to assist me with setting up my signup form up, without this assistance, I would have been kind of confused and overwhelmed I am sure.
Wealthy Affilate
I even found a little time to read some of your blogs and comment, ask some questions to learn some things I quite don't understand. My Sunday was productive enough for me to feel good about myself, remember it isn't what you don't accomplish each day, but what you do accomplish that matters the most.
Next on my email marketing agenda will be creating my first landing page,
Wish me luck
Jeff

Congratulations Jeff on getting a lot done on Sunday. I know for me, Sunday can be a bit distracting with family calling me from different parts of the country and my love for watching sports.
However, I learned long ago when I was building my first WA Boot Camp website, if I didn't focus on getting at least one post written, it would just pile up on the back burner and add to more work later.
Now that we have the use of AI to help with our content, it will be easier to get even more done in the same amount of time. Keep your foot on that accelerator and keep completing your tasks. All the best to you this week!
Rob
I understand what you are saying Rob
There are times when I can't spend as much time on my business as I would like to, life just gives us other things we must deal with first.
I live alone without any family other than my elderly mom, but taking care of her isn't so time consuming since she moved in my apartment building close by
Jeff
I can relate to that. There was a time I was taking care of both my mom and dad. Family comes first but thankfully it isn't so time consuming for you.
Thank you for being able to relate to taking care of my mom. Sometimes it take more time from my schedule than others, but my mom has to come first. She is 87 years old now, so she has some confusion some days
Jeff
Again I can relate, especially with that "confusion" part. My mom had dementia when my Dad was still alive. Then after he died my mom progressed into Alzheimer's.
Fortunately for me, my sisters and I were able to get her into a really good assisted living facility that catered to seniors with her condition. Be thankful you still have your mom.
I am sorry to hear about your parents, but I do understand since my grandmother had dementia for a very long time. She got that she could not eat, and that is how she ended up passing.
Jeff
Jeff,
You made the right choice with Mailerlite. Mailchimp does not automate the thanks yous for signing up. Mailerlite does. Brevo is a good option, but its free plan only associates with Mailchimp. I have been using the free version of mailerlite and have found it to be sufficient for what I have so far. Congratulations on putting one foot in front of the other.
Even small steps are progress!
Thanks for the feedback on usig MailerLite, I plan to just use the free version as well. Any tips and tricks on email marketing would be appreciated, even though I am experienced with this business, this strategy is brand new to me
Jeff
Hi Jeff! I recently started email marketing, so I know how you feel! For me, it's still taking me a while to set it up to actually get subscribers. I need to do a landing page, too, but I'm also learning that.
I got AWeber a while ago, and it also takes time to learn/set up. I'm not sure any good emailers will be easy. I have been looking at how to do a pop-up from when someone is leaving, but haven't figured it out yet.
Wishing you the best of luck on getting yours done :)
Teri
It is always nice to hear from others experiencing the same things, Teri
As long as I have been in this business, you would think that I ventured into email marketing long ago. What pushed me to take this step was reading an article that this is still the most productive strategy for marketing, keep me posted on your own experience with this.
Jeff
Great job, Jeff!
I wish I could publish one article every day, but I find it challenging to manage. Instead, I'm aiming for 2 articles per week.
Also, I've tried MailerLite, but I haven't been using it much because it requires me to authenticate my domain email. For now, I'm sticking with Mailchimp and using my personal email for RSS feeds.
Wishing you all the best moving forward!
Alice
Hello Ms Alysanna
I was debating between MailerLife and Mailchimp, being new to this I hope I made the right decision. I would be interesting to hear more about RSS feeds when you have the time, maybe you could write a blog for us to learn from you.

Good morning Jeff,
It looks like you have had a very constructive day, which is fantastic!
The fact you are writing blog posts every day, has to be a good thing! It also sounds like you are getting on a routine, which is great. Routines are good, due to the fact that if you can keep writing posts every day and for your other website as well, you should quickly move forward.
Congratulations on setting up your email marketing, another great step.
Have a great day.
Roy
Hello Roy
I have gotten into a regular routine for publishing articles, my traffic has increased 46% from last month since writing on Medium and Hubpages
Jeff
Good morning Jeff,
That's really good news, Jeff! It just shows how consistency pays off, that's a great increase in traffic.
I must admit I have never used Medium to write a blog post, but I know people seem to quite like the idea, so I'm guessing it works. I always think that LinkedIn is quite a good traffic source for businesses.
Have a great day.
Roy
Hey Roy
Thank you for mentioning Linkedin for writing posts for traffic, Medium has so far increased my traffic more than I ever imagined
Jeff
Hello Jeff,
It's a pleasure!
I've never understood why platforms like Facebook, which to me, appear to be highly unprofessional, seem to get all the publicity. Whereas platforms like LinkedIn, bring a much more professional approach! I believe that LinkedIn is a powerful source and something that cannot be ignored.
Have a great day.
Roy
Very true Roy
You seldom even hear anything about Linkedin compared to Facebook, I am not a fan of Facebook myself.
Jeff
Good morning Jeff,
That's so true!
Although Facebook has its uses, I also find it such a clunky platform. I do try to avoid it, but there are times when I have to use it, for example, we have a village Facebook group, which is useful. However, there always seems to be a terrific amount of clicking, to get to where you want to be, especially when it comes to showing comments. It's a time-consuming platform!
Have a fantastic day.
Roy
I agree with Facebook being time consuming, it just feels I could be using my time more effective on other platforms.
Jeff
Very much so, Jeff! I'm not quite sure why Facebook make the platform so clunky, it just feels time-consuming as soon as you get on the platform.
Enjoy your weekend.
Roy
Hey Roy
Facebook in my opinion is going downhill, I for one am not using it any longer. Many others have abandoned the site as well.
I did find the groups to be the real only value
Jeff
Hello Jeff,
I wouldn't normally say this, as I am someone who loves to see people thrive and businesses too!
However, I don't have a lot of sympathy for Facebook, as a couple of years ago, I was no longer able to access my Facebook account, which had some business pages attached to it. There was no offensive material on the Facebook pages, or account, so it didn't make sense. However, Facebook didn't respond to any emails, which I'm not surprised about.
Secondly, if you say anything on Facebook, and it goes against their narrative, you either receive a warning, or they just don't show your post, which is just wrong.
I agree, the groups can be useful, if you're running a group, they are a terrific amount of work.
I hope you're having a good weekend.
Roy
Hello Roy
It sounds like we have had similar experiences with Facebook. Someone hacked my account, so they banned me. I tried several times to appeal to them, but they never responded back to me one way or another
Jeff
Good morning Jeff,
It certainly does, Jeff! That sounds very much like Facebook, it's just not clever.
About a year ago, I reported an account that was copying a friend of mine. The report came back and said that they couldn't see anything wrong with the account, despite him using all my friends pictures, etc! It really is unbelievable how they can get away with so much!
Have a good day.
Roy
Hi Roy
I can't believe how disappointing Facebook has become for those using it. I don't think they even check on reports or requests, since many times they don't even get back to you.
Lately I am only using social media mainly for sharing my posts and networking, I was spending too much time on them.
I think people should find one or two that works for their niche,
Jeff
Good morning Jeff,
I hear you, massive time, Jeff, it's just totally wrong. I think you're probably right about the reports, etc, it seems that they rarely reply.
I'm going through the Boot Camp training that Kyle has been creating. This week's job is to create a Facebook page, I don't know if I can really be bothered, just because it's Facebook and they can take your page down at any time, and for no apparent reason. Plus it's just a terrible platform to navigate, etc.
This is a problem with social media, it's just so time-consuming, sometimes I think that we would be better off, if there was no social media, as such! I'm talking about when it comes to content, etc. I think you're doing the right thing, Jeff, social media is the perfect way to lose time.
Have a great day.
Roy
I agree with your feelings about social media, Roy
Other than auto-sharing my posts on social media, I seldom go on them any more. I am receiving steady traffic with other sources.
If you wanted to share your posts on Facebook you could create an account for that, also if you are into creating your own group.
For me, I find spending my time in other places works better for me
Jeff
It's an interesting subject, Jeff!
This sounds like the best plan, Jeff, auto sharing, rather than being sidetracked by social media, which can be another problem.
That's not a bad idea about having a Facebook page where I can share my posts, it could work. However, I think I may have at the back of my mind the fact that Facebook could shut me down at any time. I haven't been following Vitaliy posts about growing his Facebook page, but I believe he has been working quite hard on it. Every time I see one of his posts about Facebook, I just think that page could disappear at any time, without any warning! I don't want to sound negative, but that's reality!
That's good, that you have found other places that work, Jeff, I think this is the best way. I'm using YouTube a lot now, which I think is a good way to reach people. I've also just started a two month free trial of LinkedIn premium, which I much prefer to the other social media platforms.
It's interesting how different things work for different people. I've occasionally seen people direct me to their Instagram page, I have no idea why this platform is so popular. When I go to their Instagram page, I just see a few pictures, that's not really information, yet it appears that many people love Instagram! I guess I must be old school and like proper information.
Have a great day.
Roy
Hello Roy
As that you have shared about Facebook is why I avoid going on the platform now, you never know how long it will be before they ban your page.
I agree with you on different things work for different people, and this makes it rough for beginners trying to find where they should spend their time promoting their posts.
Linkedin is my first choice as well, you can write articles that can rank on search engines. Meet others which might join your programs, and even learn so much from others on the platform.
I see Linkedin as another WA in many ways,
Awesome to chat with you
Jeff
Good morning Jeff,
I think this is a potential problem for all social media platforms, however, from what I understand, Facebook is probably the worst offender! It just doesn't seem worth the risk, all that work, can potentially be in vain.
It does make it very difficult for beginners, there are too many choices out there, so which one do they go for?! I remember hearing a story about someone I know of who had 750,000 followers on Facebook, he had a successful business. However, he was spending 75% of time on his website and the other 25% on Facebook, he was also responding to people in the comments, etc, on Facebook.
One day, he checked his Google Analytics and discovered that Facebook was sending him virtually zero traffic! So, he decided just to post to Facebook, rather than spend time responding to comments. He was a bit concerned about how this was going to affect his income, but nothing changed, regarding Facebook, so is able to dedicate more time to his website.
This story is probably from two or three years ago, or maybe older. I do believe that Facebook pages may have become better again. When Facebook pages originally came out, they really were quite powerful, however, when things changed on the platform and they decided they were not going to promote business pages very much, everything changed for the user. This type of thing makes me very nervous about using Facebook!
Yes, I totally agree with what you're saying about LinkedIn, a totally different platform, although, I think there may be some changes going on there. Hopefully, it will stay much the same.
I almost probably ought to spend more time on LinkedIn, that I do on Wealthy Affiliate, but that hasn't happened yet!
I hope you have a good weekend, Jeff.
Roy
Hey Roy
Interesting story of the Facebook experience. Since I am only sharing my posts on social media my traffic has actually increased dramatically. The reasosn is I am able to spend more time writing and publishing on my website, also have more time on other traffic resources I am using regularly now.
With my experience, I don't feel social media platforms are providing enough traffic that they are worth my time.
That might just be me,
Jeff
Facebook only works in my opinion if you are using their ads. Maybe even then it isn't very productive.
Jeff
Good morning Jeff,
That's what I thought about the Facebook experience. From what I understand, when Facebook pages first arrived on the scene, they were brilliant, then when Facebook ads came out, they became almost pointless. But it does seem over the past year, that Facebook pages have more punch again!
That's very interesting to know that social media is bringing you traffic, Jeff, It's funny how things change. Last night, I was talking to my Webmaster in the US, who is very knowledgeable. Before Facebook and similar platforms became famous or popular, he said that our website should be our main platform. However, yesterday, he was saying that we obviously still need our websites, but now we have to post to social media, to get that boost, which is interesting, but also lines up with what you are saying, Jeff! Maybe I need to create that Facebook page or other social media pages!
I do believe that our niche can make a difference to what social media platforms work, if that makes sense. So, for example, if someone was making high quality furniture, Facebook probably would not be very good. But if they were promoting a cookery club, it could stand a good chance of working well.
I'm reading your post, as I write, Jeff, maybe I should have read it first and then responded.
I appreciate the conversation in the thread.
Have a great day.
Roy
Hello Roy
How are you doing this Sunday morning, well it is Sunday morning here.
It all depends on how you want to use social media, I am only using it mainly by auto-sharing my posts to my followers. Once a week I make an appearance, but I usually don't spend all that much time on one platform, as in the past.
You can use Buffer or another auto-sharing platform if you desire.
I am not fond of social media myself, but it does have its uses if you can prevent being addicted and spending too much time on them
Jeff
Good morning Jeff,
I'm doing well, thank you, Jeff.
I believe that you are in the US, Jeff, I'm across the pond in the UK.
I think this sounds very wise, as social media has a habit of taking our time away from what we should be doing. It sounds like you have your social media down to a fine art, which is great.
Is Buffer a free platform, Jeff? I have used HootSuite in the past, but I know a lot of people use Buffer.
Your last sentence makes a lot of sense, Jeff, we need to be really wise and careful, otherwise I time can be stolen.
Thank you for the info and feedback, I do appreciate it.
Roy
Hello Roy
I am in the US, Pennsylvania is my home state. The weather here is not to my liking at times. There are worse places to live I am sure.
Buffer has a free plan for 3 social accounts if that works for you. Did you not like HootSuite?
Most people spend way too much time on social media in my opinion. I find using that time to write and publish to be way more important and productive
Jeff
Good morning Jeff,
It's interesting where people live across the world! I'm not sure which places have the best weather, most places have ups and downs. My ex-wife, who is from Greece, comes from a very nice part of the world, which is where I'm hoping to move to soon. Although they have hot summers, they are geared up for it. I also like their Greek way of life and everything that goes with it!
It's been several years since I used HootSuite, but the last time I looked, the paid version was quite expensive. Maybe I need to give Buffer a try.
I couldn't agree with you more, Jeff, it almost seems like social media steels our time, if we are not careful!
Have a great day.
Roy
Hello Roy
It is interesting that you are planning on moving to Greece. I think that you are right most places has their ups and downs.
I know many new members are going to be spending too much time on social media. They are going to think the more time they spend there, the more money they will make.
I have never experienced many sales from social media myself
Jeff
Good morning Jeff,
Moving to Greece was something that I could never imagine myself doing a few years ago. However, it's a place that I came to very quickly like and enjoy, I also very much like the Greek people, they are a good race! Life goes by quickly, so it's important to be in a good place. I'm actually a great fan of the UK and its beautiful countryside. It's very sad that it's being thrown away by globalist politicians.
Having said the last sentence, despite how our country is, if everything is fine, I would probably have still been going to Greece.
Unfortunately, I see many people on this platform spending time on social media and using AI to write blog posts. I'm afraid that, sadly, it won't end well. I have told many people to make their content their own, but they tell me they are, despite me immediately seeing that it's AI content!! People are fed up with AI slop, and so is Google!
That's very true, Jeff, I'm the same with social media, I don't feel it's particularly brought me sales. I have a Twitter account, which I use more for news items rather than promoting my business. I think social media will properly work if you literally spend all day on it and it's your main platform, we still run the risk of losing everything!
Have a fantastic day.
Roy
Thank you for sharing Roy
Greece is one place i never considered a possible place to relocate. Do you speak the language well enough to communicate?
I use AI for research, but I write my articles from my own experience. Oddly I find my Wealthy Affiiate content to be ranking the highest.
I just have lost faith in social media as a marketing tool, it seems to be everyone is just interested in promoting their own articles. Even though I have followers who do repost my content, I have not experienced enough success to make social media my preferred marketing strategy.
You are more likely right about social media might work if you spend all your time on them, but when will you have the time to write and publish your content.
Interesting as always hearing from you.
This morning was a waste of my time writing and publishing. WA content didn't save most of my content when being published. I just deleted the post, maybe this afternoon I will try it again.
Maybe it would be safer to write directly on my website instead of WA content?
Jeff
It's always a pleasure, Jeff!
Greece is a lovely country, Jeff, but I guess in the US, your country is so vast, you almost don't need to leave your country, plus you have a huge selection of places that you can go, etc. I don't speak the language properly, however, I am having lessons, which helps. I'm told it's a difficult language to learn, but I think any foreign language is difficult! We are fortunate in this day and age, as so many people speak English, but I think it's important and right, if you want to go to a country, to learn the language.
That's interesting that your Wealthy Affiliate content ranks higher than your own content. I guess that may be due to the fact that Wealthy Affiliate has authority. AI is great for research, but it's so important that we make it our own, as you are doing.
I hear you, regarding social media, Jeff, to a certain extent, I still don't understand how it works! It seems like there are some accounts that receive huge amounts of traction and yet they will never, reply to a comment.
I knew of a man, in the UK, who was very successful on social media, he was in the landscaping industry. He actually ended up going on television, due to a highly successful tweet that he wrote. He was very quick to reply to people and had lots of followers. However, now, sadly, he is nowhere to be seen, I think he could have had a nervous breakdown, from what I understand. My guess is that the pressure of continually replying to people, was just too much!
I'm sorry to hear that, Jeff, that's very frustrating when you lose content, it's also very time-consuming. Maybe you need to write into a document, that you save, before you start writing. I will generally use a Word document, which I can save, but just make sure to use plain text when you paste it into your website, or wherever it's going.
I must admit that the features that Wealthy Affiliate offer for writing, have never worked for me. I know for some people, it appears they work really well, but for others, for some reason, it just doesn't work. Personally, I would write into a document and then plain paste it into WordPress. In this way, you can also have a copy in your documents.
Have a fantastic day.
Roy
I hear you Roy,
I rewrote my article that didn't make it yesterday morning in the afternoon. It was a little disappointing to lose one of my better content articles.
Most other countries teach their children at a very young age to speak English. Maybe we should be doing that in the USA.
Writing in a text document is a good idea. Today I wrote and published an aritcle using WA content. I saved it as a draft, and then checked the draft to be sure it saved all the information.
I have been experiencing quite a few errors from WA this week, maybe it is just me having a bad week.
Learning to speak the language in Greece is a great idea, so are you finding it difficult to learn the language.
Jeff
