How to Get Paid For Writing Blogs
Hello WA Family,
Today we are going to look at how to get paid for writing blogs. Since we all are writing to earn an income, we need to understand the methods available to accomplish our goals.
Here are some of the most popular methods
- You can sell ad space on your blog to other businesses related to your niche. You can do this with Google AdSense.
- With affiliate marketing which is what the majority of members in this community are doing.
- Digital products such as ebooks, online courses, and webinars are all good choices to consider as well.
- Promote subscription products and services for a recurring income.
- Become a coach or mentor in your niche for others to learn from you for a fee.
Now let us look into these methods in more detail in the following paragraphs, and if any members have anything to share feel free to share them in the comments.
Google Adsense
Some bloggers earn income from their content entirely from Google Adsense, so if affiliate marketing isn't your cup of tea, you can consider this option instead. There is nothing that says you can't take advantage of more than one method on your blog, now let us learn more about Google Adsense.
Understanding Google Adsense
- AdSense works by displaying ads relevant to your blog's content and your target audience.
- You earn income either when someone clicks on an ad or when someone views it for a certain duration.
Getting Started
- You'll need a Google AdSense account. Make sure your blog adheres to AdSense program policies to be eligible.
- Once your account is approved, link your blog to AdSense. This allows AdSense to display ads on your blog.
Optimizing
- The more visitors you have, the more ad impressions and clicks you'll generate.
- Focus on a specific niche relevant to advertisers.
- Experiment with different ad placements on your blog.
- Common spots include sidebars at the top of the page, and in between content.
This is a basic guide to using Google Adsense for income, you will not see much revenue unless you are receiving lots of steady traffic to your content. It would be better to wait until you are receiving traffic to join this program, but that is up to you.
Affiliate Marketing Programs
Affiliate marketing is the most common method beginners use, here are some tips and tricks to get you started.
Affiliate Program Tips and Tricks
- Recurring subscriptions will bring you the most income, you will want to research to find the higher-paying programs in your niche.
- Every time a customer renews a subscription this can provide a steady income over and over as long as they keep their subscription active.
- Longer cookie lifespans are what you want to search for to join.
- Joining reputable brands in your niche will build trust and relationships.
- Software products that offer recurring commissions are good choices if they exist in your niche.
- Ebooks, online courses, and other downloadable products often pay higher commissions.
- Web hosting companies often have generous affiliate programs.
- If you can promote expensive products with high commissions, you can potentially earn a significant income with fewer sales.
That is what I have to share with you for choosing affiliate products, now we will move on to our next method.
Digital Products
Many programs such as ClickBank offer digital products for bloggers, you often can find high-paying opportunities in the majority of the niches.
Create Digital Products
- Write ebooks related to your blog's niche.
- Write online courses that provide valuable information or skills. Platforms like Udemy or Teachable can help you.
- If you write guides consider creating downloadable printables to offer to your target audience for a fee or to sign up for your newsletter.
Digital Products
- Look for digital products related to your content that will solve your target audience's problems.
- Join affiliate networks like ShareASale, Commission Junction, or FlexOffers to find digital products to promote.
With digital products done, we now are going to subscription products and services.
Subscription Products and Services
Subscription Products
- Create exclusive, high-value content like in-depth guides available only to paying subscribers.
- Provide early-bird access to new blog posts, articles, or videos
- Add a private online forum accessible only to subscribers
- Exclusive monthly live webinars for paying subscribers.
- Find subscription boxes related to your blog's niche.
- Look for affiliate programs offered by subscription services like ShareASale
- Promote the subscription service through blog posts, and reviews.
You now have a better idea of how to use subscription products and services in your content for income. Let us look at our last method in my next paragraph.
Coaching and Mentoring
Once you have some experience, you can become a coach or mentor in your niche, people are willing to pay for information. Everyone new requires a helping hand, so let us see how we can make this happen.
- Showcasing your knowledge attracts potential clients, and labels you as an authority.
- Share success stories of past clients you've coached
- Offer a limited number of free consultations
- Create a landing page on your blog outlining your coaching or mentoring services.
- Include clear calls to action throughout your blog.
- Integrate lead capture forms on your blog to collect contact information from interested readers. You can then follow up with them through email marketing.
- Create coaching packages to attract your target audience's interests.
- Create downloadable resources like workbooks related to your niche
Once you gain experience in your niche coaching or mentoring can be a profitable method to earn an income with your blogs. Any other suggestions are welcomed in the comment section, asking questions is always encouraged.

Yet once again Jeff I think you have brilliantly given us all some excellent advice 😊
Following your clear advice… and also that of Abieplus, Kyle, Jay and a bunch of others has been SO helpful… I have been getting ‘traffic’ to my 2 websites after only launching them less than a few weeks ago!
It’s the community of WA which I perceive is the golden benefit of this system 😇
Awesome progress James
