What is Google Alerts

Just in case some of you are not familiar with Google Alerts, I am going to tell you a little about it to help you understand it.

  • Google Alerts is a free service that helps you stay up-to-date on specific topics by sending you email notifications whenever new content appears online that matches your search terms.
  • This can be useful for tracking news articles, blog posts, social media mentions, or anything else you're interested in.

I am sure now you understand how important knowing what is happening in your niche can be a great asset to writing up-to-date content your target audience will be interesting in reading about.

Google Alert Guide

To get you started, I have included this simple guide. I hope this is helpful and interesting to some of you to use this free Google asset for content marketing.

Visit the Google Alerts @ https://www.google.com/alerts

Enter your search term in the box at the top.

Click "Show options" to customize your alert settings, such as:

  • You can choose to receive updates daily, weekly, or as they happen.
  • You can filter by news websites, blogs, videos, books, or even specific domains.
  • You can narrow down your results to specific languages and regions.
  • You can choose how many results you want to see in each notification.
  • You can choose to receive alerts via email or RSS feed.

Click "Create Alert" to save your settings and start receiving notifications.

The link provided is a non-affiliate link for your convenience. You can if you wish and have the time use this guide to set up your Google Alerts by clicking on the link to go to the Google Alerts website.
