I am just confused

When I first started at WA, I chose a domain name that I thought could be a good fit for an online business. I started playing around with it on site rubix. Then I signed up for premium, I purchased a different domain name to satisfy the training requirement. I was told to start with one site at a time. Keep focusing on one site until you master it, so I was told.

Now that I am getting comfortable with putting a site together. I decided to go back to start with my older site that I started about a yr ago. To find out the domain name had been sold and the asking price now is $ 50000.

The funny thing is the site is still up in WA. How come someone else own it? True I did not pay for it, but doesn't it still exists under my name? Wasn't I supposed to have a warning that the site is about to expire or something?
I was under the impression that the first 2 sites were mine to keep.

I hope this has been sorted out for you.

No, Yvonne, I lost it for good. I am just going to move on and do other things. Thank you for your support.
Godbless!

.com is a business in itself and it does come up in the training. I know that sometimes figures are inflated but its the same as buying real estate. Its only worth what people are prepared to pay for it. However in some cases they are.

I have just done a protection domain strategy with one of my clients and secured the .com's that could really affect their brand. I hope you get it sorted in your head, its not the end of the game. Wishing you all the best, we are all learning, good luck Phil

Thank you, Phil. I just realized how important it is to cherish and protect what you love.

Well, I have another way of dealing with the loss. I can always write a blog post on my site with the same domain name. I did not deviate that much from the domain name that I chose anyway.

Judith, one of the early training videos goes into this scenario.
With site rubix you are just part of a larger organisation. Site Rubix is not yours, you are just a member.
The video also says that to own the rights to your chosen domain you must buy it as a dot com. Until then, anyone can buy it.
Kyle also says to buy domains you might want in the future as soon as possible. Once its gone its gone.
Good luck with your search

I missed that part, but anyway, thank you for the answer.

This looks like more research is needed on this situation. There are a lot of pieces here that look confusing, but with all of the details they can be explained. This is probably a Kyle question. You amy want to sent Kyle a PM.

Yeah, Jg, the damage is already done.

Since your old website is selling for such a high value, I am interested in what it is. Could you PM me the domain name?
Thanks

I am just going to keep a secret, for now. I just got an offer in a Waterdown version of it. I might get it.

Oh Good. I hope you can do this

Yeah, but one of the members in here told me the high price might not be true. I am not sure about the offer price, but the name is valuable, I know for sure.

I am not going to pay that high price. I will get the same name with an extra character.

Do you have a copy of all of your content? I am wonder if you can use the content. Would site support have a backup they could restore to you new site name? It's worth checking out. Let me know.

I told you they are making an offer close to the one I had. I am just thinking about it. The only problem, I am going to lose my ranking on google.

Yes you will loose your ranking.
