Hooray! Finally - More Time for WA!
Yes, I have been saying it...wishing for it...needing it! There's always a lot of talk around here about ditching the 9-5 and doing Wealthy Affiliate full-time; should you do it, when to do it, can I do it, etc.
Up until now...I have usually been getting in 1 full day a week and then a few half days, here and there, but no more! No, I am not going full-time yet...that will come. But, I need more time...got to have more time to devote to this, so it is time for a big transition step.
I will now be getting in 3 full days a week and perhaps a few 1/2 days here and there as well. You see, that's what getting debt free will do for you. It means it's no longer an "all or nothing" proposition...it isn't either 9-5 or no 9-5...it isn't either WA crammed into an hour before you head off the work, plus an hour or 2 when you get home before bed; or WA full time. There are steps you can take in-between.
Yeah, I know. I can hear it now. "I'll be debt free when my WA money starts pouring in!" Maybe so, but what's the #1 thing keeping people from succeeding? I say it is time...most people know what to do here at WA, or soon will after a little more studying.
Let's see: there's email marketing, comments, newsletters & e-books to write, social media, ppc, massive amounts of quality content, keyword and niche research, affiliate programs to implement and manage, always more training, website building, maintenance and improvement, stats monitoring...and then there's all the activity of engaging with your fellow members here at WA! :)
No doubt about it...time is gold!
So, this year ahead is it...time to get more done and move ahead. Less expenses means fewer bills...fewer bills means less hours needed at my current job...so, now more hours can be spent on what I really like doing...My WA niches.
My 2 cents (for what it is worth)?
Don't wait for WA to bail you out of whatever situation you may find yourself in. Have a plan to make it happen, regardless. Do whatever it takes to escape the rat-race, even if you have to do it incrementally, like we're doing.
Then, when WA pays off (and it will, especially if you keep putting more and more time into as you go along) the money won't just come into one hand on its way out to someone else via your other hand. :)
Figure out what it takes and then do it.
As always, I'm following each of you all the way to your success!

Good for you Chris. Time is truly a very valuable resource whether we realize it or not. We all find ourselves in situations when we wished we had more of it. Now you have more of this valuable resource to work on your financial security. Well done.
Jerome
Thank, Jerome...I have been planning this improvement and waiting for it from shortly after beginning WA a little over a year ago. :)
I agree, time is gold. I can only get at least two hours a day here. And I love doing this! But, I do have a plan if anything happens.
Thanks for the advice.
That's great Mildred! Once we have a real plan, then add WA to it (rather than making it our "escape plan") then, we are really free to pursue what WA has to offer. This is one of the reasons why I am so in favor of folks going yearly...it would be worth it, even if it only saved you a dollar over monthly, as it takes away the monthly payment concern, especially when we are having a down day, and makes our commitment to succeed and ability to focus just that much firmer. :)
I agree. I saw that $49/monthly as Dude! What if I can't pay one month? I wanted no interruptions plus is was a little cheaper.
I felt overwhelmed trying to fit in school, work, family, health and my business. I had to step way back for a few months and I felt like giving up. I didn't though. I am just starting to get back into it here and joined Michael's YEAR long posting challenge to start getting content added to my site!
I hope my persistence will pay off someday!!
I am lucky to have a good job in state government with a great boss and flexible schedule so I can't complain! The pay isn't high but the health insurance, retirement money and time off is great!
Yes Jessica, that's where so many of us start...part-time. It's too bad many quit way too soon, especially not realizing that it takes months even at full-time to build up a website, niche following.
Persistence is the only way to make it payoff...WA is something smart people start, planning ahead of time; not something desperate people do to alleviate a bad situation.
I know some members who made money in less than 6 months, but most of the big money makers I have run across didn't really start making it big until between years 1 and 2...that's a fact. :)
Thanks, Michael...there is all kinds of feedback we can use to our benefit and one of them is a time versus productivity analysis. My analysis says I need more time at my level of productivity. While it is always possible to be more productive, it is also solved by adding more time, if possible. :)
Well, this is a treat.....twice in one week!!!
What you said is so powerful, about being able to do this business in increments. Looking forward to seeing you around more Chris!!!
