Day 23 Report - Where Did the Day Go?

If you read that title then you probably know what's up.

After winning for two days straight, I struck out and didn't complete any of the tasks I planned on getting done today.

Absolutely nothing.

After starting on my review for Website 1 this morning which I started while eating breakfast just after posting my list on here, I got a phone call which I had to respond to. I had to run into town to get something sorted out and this just put a stopper on my day.

After getting back home much later in the afternoon because I decided to stay and pick my son up from pre-school, I just couldn't get back into the groove to do anything even though I wanted to.

Today, which I had previously thought would be uneventful and perfect to complete some extra tasks turned out to be a much busier day than any of the others. I just couldn't get back into the writing mood to do any work.

Now that I'm writing this (after everything has calmed down a bit), I think I might try tackling some of the tasks.

I hadn't really thought about this before but I'm much more of a night person than I'm a day-person and some of my best writing has been done late at night. The night is generally a much more quiet time with less distractions.

I'm thinking about scheduling some work at night but that wouldn't work for what I want to do. I'd like to use the night for sleeping (like everyone else) and the day for work (at least 5 hours).

As for these unfinished tasks, I'm going to work on them right after I finish writing this report and maybe I'll include a mini-report tomorrow with my to-do list.

It's time to reclaim my work day.

Thanks for the post, Jay.

Working with a list helps a great deal because it organizes you and brings a sense of accomplishment. Indeed, it is a record of implementation, of success. I believe there is a book written on this by a medical doctor, which has come to be used widely in executing tasks. Whatever is not accomplished, can always be accounted for, as you have done, and remedial action taken, as you have also done.

Just ...

Awesomeness!
Mojalefa.

Judging from your comment to Daniel, you did your best to catch up and you got at least some tasks done.

You are not a robot, so you have 'phenomenal days' and days where the 24 hours just simply weren't enough to get everything done when something unexpected came up.

Wish you another great day now.

I think we all have those days from time to time it can be frustrating, but we will all get there in the end.

Yes we all do have those days and we still eventually get there.

I am a little leery about coming on one of your blogs and I hope you don't mind.

I have way too many of these kinds of days and see it happens to the best of the best. I have been following this series though I have remained in the background in listen-only mode.

Everyone is welcomed to comment here Daniel. Feel free to comment, offer advice, criticize or just have fun on any of my blog posts.

Yes, everyone has these days. We are all human after all. No-one in here is a superhero and distractions happen.

What is important is that you make the plans so that you can better focus on where to put in work. This is something that the core training here at WA is modeled on. You implement the stuff you learn by doing the tasks at the end of the lessons and in doing so you progressively build your business.

Whenever i have these days, I always make sure that I do the tasks within a reasonable timing. I'll either reschedule the tasks for the next day or I'll tackle them in between like I'm doing now.

I just took a break in between reading some articles (my learning task that I missed today). I'm on the third one now so that task is going to be checked off.

There's still some activity in the house at the moment and I can't fully settle down to write so I'm tackling some of the other tasks.

Anyway man, I would like to hear more from you on these posts and if you're having trouble focusing then maybe I can help you out.

If you want, you can even try doing these public to-do lists the way I do them and report back so we can see how you're progressing. This works. It kinda forces you to get the work done.
