As long as you write it according to your 'voice' and style, you should not worry so much about duplicate content. Of course, if thousand of people writing about the same thing, there might be a few sentences sound the same but if it is still unique in the sense it is not copied and pasted from the existing articles on the internet, I would suggest to proceed.

There was a forum among SEO experts on this too. And i find it interesting that one of Google representative gave an example of a product reviews, let say a vacuum of certain model, there must be similarity in the contents as people are referring to the same products. But if you write the post yourself, you should go ahead and publish it.
My opinion.

Write it your own voice from your own point of view then publish it....if it says too much duplicate content, erase or change that which you might think is causing the issue and republish until SiteContent accepts it!
Best scenario, be as original as you can from the start!

You already received your answers from the experts. The training Coach or expert Jay just talk about that in his last training. Jays 10 Step Process on Getting Content to Rank It was good information and he touch bases on duplicate content.
